This is a thread to tell everyone the crazy theories you have about anything, meant to be funny or serious. Personally i think that if we could somehow line up everyone on the planet in a straight line from the north pole to the south pole and we all started to run at the same time in the same direction it would cause the earths rotation to increase.

Time actually is speeding up. Everyone always says that things seem to go by faster and faster. There would be no way to measure this, so no one can prove me wrong.

The universe started as a result of a time loop. In the future, we create a new universe. Obviously, it branches off, and we can't see it anymore. We just did it because we could. Or quantum fluctuation did. Or aliens did. It doesn't matter who created it. This universe evolves on its own, and eventually also has intelligent life. And since it is a different universe, its time does not have to run in the same direction as ours, and does not. Eventually, sometime in that universe's future, a new universe is created by someone or just by quantum fluctuation, and that universe happens to be ours.

If you can perceive that it is going faster, than it means that your consciousness or at least a part of it, must be outside of the part of reality that is going faster. Anyway my theory: 1) Why are things the way they are, and not any different? It's impossible, there for it must be that nothing exists.

Well there goes that theory. Beksinski, I don't think that is a crazy theory, I don't see how it could be any other way.

Beksinski, I don't think that is a crazy theory, I don't see how it could be any other way. It could be different in quantum effects are involved in the thought process. We don't know nearly enough about quantum physics yet to determine if they are. However, if it's true, that reduces our thought process to a matter of probability, which isn't much more comforting. The reason why I posted it in this thread is because it means we can't actually choose our destinies. No matter what we 'choose', that is the path we were to follow all along. We like to think we're in control, but that theory reduces us to mere puppets.

I present to you the Percentage of Lifetime Theory: All of our experience of time is directly related to how much of it we have experienced passing us. I believe that an interval of time is always perceived as having a value that is inversely proportional to your age. Remember how long a year seemed to be when you were five years old? At that time, a year was exactly 1/5 of a lifetime long... a nice sized chunk! When you turned ten, a year was only 1/10 of a lifetime, and thus seemed to be only half as long. To a 50-year-old, a year is only 2% of their life, and it seems proportionally faster, and at 100, it will seem twice that speed! As a 43-year-old, I can tell you that thinking of time as a percentage of your current lifetime frames it in a fairly consistent way. Faster and faster it goes, and the slower you seem to the world!

Would it then be possible to perceive time to go slower? Time is only a perception, to a degree. I have tried to ponder a world without clocks. People are too fixated on time. What time is it? How old am I? Time for this - no time for that. Tic tick tic tick. Your theory. I think is true. It seems factual actually.

My theory on fixing the whole melting polar ice caps rising the sea level thing: Dig Billions of tons of earth out of the seabed, put it all ontop of dry land. The land is higher, sea level is lower. Problem solved.

Cool subject. I say let's try it. Hold on... I have a flaw in your theory! If the earth rotates clockwise > All the Republicans will run with your theory, to the right, while the democrats counter the effect running to the left. Not making it ...right. My theory in short: There seems to be polar opposites to everything. The natural laws of physics are bound by relativity. Everything is relative as it seems. This can't work in concert with the foundational ideas of quantum physics. But we believe there is a common ground. As nature would have it, we as humans have the unique perspective on the perception of these two realities. In addition the possible concise knowledge to maybe recognize this if we find it. ~So. Why are we in a conscious world with so much capacity for subconscious awareness? If we can make the conscious mind and the subconscious mind work collectively and in unison with each other, it will lead us to this answer.

My physics teacher actually mentioned something like this to me. Because as we walk, an equal but opposite force is exerted on the Earth. A shady example could be if you walked on a box that is in water, as you walk off it, it moves back due to the force. So if everyone was facing the same direction and walked, the force of every human could move the Earth.

I've always believed in a balance. For every good thing that happens, something bad will happen and vice versa. So, if you have a realllly crap day one day, your due a really good day soon if you aint already had it.
