i imagine people think it's "bad" for them. i really don't know what the big deal is... it could just be the big food businesses trying to keep a foot hold in their market.

Genetic Engineered food cant really be bad for you, you're not gonna make a poison by just changing some genes having to do with growth and stuff... Random mutation does as much. One thing that upsets people is that the crops are made resistant to certain natural enemies etc and are afraid that, for instance grains if they mix with a wild species a new crossbreed will exist that wont be as edible but will not be under controll in nature itself, so it'll grow to much etc causing damange to the enviroment.

I think all this organic food/GE food is a load of rubbish. Food, at the end of the day, is something you just eat. It might kill you if you ate extorinate amounts of it, but it would probably take you 120 years or so to do that, and we don't live that long anyway. May as well just eat foods and pig out for the 80 years-or-so we're here for.

GE is good, we already control most of the environment, why not go further and control all the organisims? We need more gentic diversity anyways I think there is no choice but to turn to g.e., and the food is good! I can see both sideds of the argurment but i like that one better, we need to make our crops more pest resistant-why? because we have made our pests pesticide resistant. Also the taste benifets are cool, i like the idea of strawapples. And who didnt like Jurrasic Park?

Maybe I am wrong but I thought Genetic Engineered and organically grown stuff where two totally different things. One being what you do before you grow it and the other is what you do after. So you could have something that is GE and organically grown at the same time.

bah... organically grown crap is grown by hippies, they dont use artificial herbicides or pesticides, they dont use genetically enhanced seeds.
