Interactive Story Game!

[Out of the Blue]

I got this idea from explosm.net How it works: I post an image (see below) and you supply me with actions for the on-screen character. It works just as those old text adventure games did. I choose a suggestion and post the new image, and include some narration. And the story unfolds. I have no idea how this will work. Someone with better imaging skills should make one of their own. --- I'm in a dark room. I don't remember how I got here.

Right now, I'm doing a similare thread on Beyondunreal Forum The quality sucks at the first two pages, but the rest 17 pages should be fine. By the way, Explosm "ripped" the story idea from SomethingAwful. Also, nobody really has the rights for this idea. It's an old childs game, illustrated with pictures.

He's using paint, quite obviously. To get this quite well, you're going to have to use a tablet mouse thing for better drawings, or super leet mouse-drawing skills. And, of course, Paint Shop Pro/Photoshop/Something similar that != Paint.

Well it matters Neko, because after 10 pictures, he will stop, because it will consume too much time. He'll have to redraw most of the stuff in the picture, everytime he makes a new reply. Tweak: I use Photoshop, a bit of 3D Studio Max and my MX500 optic mouse. But lets see for how long it will last Check your pockets.

Also indeed. With layers, you can easily just hide a layer and ZOOF! One of your "onstage props" is gone. And I see, nice nice.

If one wants to start a story thread, one has to be very active in the thread. So far, OP has failed.

Yeah. In fact, you have to dedicate a couple of hours to it, and keep painting and reading the thread like a madman. This is also why this topic fails.

Not to brag, but as advice. The quality of your drawings should be somewhere around this Probably lower, since I'm putting a bit more work into the quality, than Matt and RobD is, but meh, the quality should be higher than what you have now, and get Photoshop, everything becomes so much easier.

I actually like the level of detail that Matt and Rob use. I might get a tablet and do the drawing here, for a Dreamviews interactive story game.

Take those two rubies, and use them for mind-controlling. By the way, if you're using GIMP, you can also use layers and save in .png, instead of .jpeg.

I officially let anyone with more artistic talent take this over. I doubt anyone will though. But hell, this was fun for all 3 images of it. Edit: Whoa, I just noticed he's translucent. My bad.

Well, I look forward to it Marvo, if you do pick it up. Edit: Bwuhahahaha, you could even make it a "Lucid Dream" adventure and put it in the dreaming sections.

I could try and take it over from here, but I'll do a completely different take on the story, by using 3D max mainly, and then drawing simple stuff with Photoshop. Would ease things a bit, as perspective is a lot easier that way. I'll give it a try tomorrow, if nobody else is gonna do it.
