      The Best Final Fantasy

SO, I know this strictly belongs in entertainment, but wider audience.

I have seen this disputed all over the place, so a final poll here should do us some justice.

      Which is your favourite?

I am going with IX due to it being so freakin' epic. And having Kuja, who is arguably my favourite Final Fantasy villain ever.

Close competition is VIII-Due to Squall.

I HIGHLY apologise for not including the first 5, however
A: i Cannot have that many poll answerrs
B: The vast majority of people are experienced with 6 onwards.
C: From general feedback people tend to prefer VI onwards.

My favorite is VIII. I guess because I feel like I can relate to Squall in some ways. I really like the story too.

I'd agree with you there, VIII was definately my favourite, it had a good storyline and i enjoyed it the most out of them. I think X and XII were also good, probably better than VIII now but i think that VIII was good in its time

Final Fantasy IX is the best, indeed.
I didn't even play 7 or 8, whichever it was, since it had guns and tanks and all such modern things together with magic and all such typical Final Fantasy concepts. Quite blasphemous.

I still remember Regent Cid coming to the rescue at the Iifa Tree at the end of the game. The White Dragon invasion being countered by the airship fleet. Awesome.

P.S. For soundtracks, clips, images and wallpapers from all the most popular games, you should most certainly check out this place, it's quite awesome: http://bluelaguna.net/

      I voted FFVIII.

But this is not a definitive poll in the slightest. I really enjoyed V, and IV is apparently a classic. So where are they?

Its the newer ones I'm going by Six onwards.

They are very different to the earlier ones.

My absolute favourite is VI. VII and IX tie as second, with a definite honourable mention for IV. My anti-favourite is VIII. That one is the armpit of the FF series.

How so? It's a very natural progression. I think they should have all been included in the poll, especially with there being remakes of I-III with graphics matching somewhere between IV and VI. And I've heard really good things about FF3 for Nintendo DS.

      VIII rocks!

OK I understand now I should of included more but as I say:

Squall was a blank canvas for personality. He sucked.

X-2 all the way. It's silly, pointless and a hell of a lot of fun. Just what games should be I think.

Watch this and then try to go against the power of Final Fantasy IX. >.>

My favourite part in the game. Early on and there are plenty more "epic" parts later on but that clip is fun, heh.

Ive only played VII, X, and X-2. I thought the story line was the most unique in the first one but X is probably my favorite.

I didn't know IX was good.. heh... I have it, maybe I'll give it a shot.

      Damn right Merlock.

This is the reason I love IX:

I like FFX the best because of the audio, and the cool characters, movies and storyline. I thought it was very well done, but the end was kind of a disappointment - too easy.

I love both VI and IX. VII was okay.. but It always seems to get more attention then it deserves.

      Reasons:

I adore VI mainly because how much personality is in everything. I mean, they're what, fucking 16-bit sprites? Yet they tend to have more depth and express their feelings better then fully animated sequences.

I love IX mainly because its characters and story. I love the Black mages. Then, when everything gets blown up its like "holy crap... WTF... That didn't just happen, did it?"

I also noticed nobodies gone for XII yet. IMO, this had the potential to be the greatest of all of them. But, WHAT THE HELL? The made the story revolve around an angsty teenager. I mean, it would have been better x10 if it had revolved around Balthier or Basch. You know, the interesting characters. But I loved the battle system and graphics. Story was okay. Not too great. I loved the ending tho. =)

Thirded on the no spoilers plea.

Oh, and the first boss is generally considered to be the flans, hence the "Congratulations" at the end. </pendant>

Fourthed at the no spoilers. I may have quit playing, but if I ever do want to resume it.. Yeah.

For me, VII. Most badass villain ever. IX is a close second, then X - simply because I finished it first, so I look back at it with big pleasure. Never got around to finishing IX, but I keep getting nearly there. I'll finish it someday.

I suppose... It felt like just another random encounter with much much harder monsters... then again, so did the horse... I hate boss battles like that. That's what's nice about X - all the boss battles are actually relevant (even the chocobo eater at least gets a decent introduction). None of that "BOOOO, you will fight me, the random weird monster" crap.
