Kinda soothing to know that, don't you agree, Soldier?
Way to rain on the parade.
Two words: Canned Food.
Two more words: Bottled Water.
Or two more words: Boil Water.
In the words of some actor who I can't remember but I can visualize and whose voice I can hear: "There's always another way!"

1)cooking-i have propane and lots of it, cooking wouldnt be a problem for at least 2 months
2) yes the freezer would be a problem, our generater would run out of gas after a few days. food would be easy to get , i have 17 chickens and (ugh)horses....., a natural spring in my back pond so theres water.
3)fighting- yes i would, i have shotguns and rifles. though if too many came i'd be shooting from the roof.
i quess the biggest problem would be how long can you last? i would have it easier being on a farm and out in the middle of no where.
Good point with the propane, Soldier! If you could get to some place that sells propane tanks, those could be used instead of grenades. Sure they can be bulky, but they are combustable, so firing up one of those babies would definitely help out the cause!
 If you're around when it happens, you can be in my squad. Just keep up. :D
Zombies are basically allegory for a Black Plague scale epidemic (though they can also represent fear of "enemy within" ideological conversions like the Red Scare), so yeah, it's an inherently shitty situation.
:D
THAT would be the perfect zombie armor. :cooler:
hahaha. Awesome. That thing is pretty badass, isn't it?
Living in Florida, I'm used to being without electricity for a few sometimes weeks at a time. It would suck in a zombie situation, sure, but it'd be doable.
As Ame said; canned food. Also, I live near plenty of farms and you can be damn sure that I'd be willing to hunt for my food, even if it means picking off some other dude's livestock.
And "no running water" definitely doesn't mean "no water." That's more of an inconvenience than a necessity.
Was it the Key Maker, in Matrix: Reloaded?
I actually wrote a zombie-based short story, back in High School, about me and three of my friends in a zombie-infested shopping mall. Haha. That was one of the ways I took out a pack of zombies, was by rolling a propane tank toward them and shooting it (though I don't know if that really works or not, but hey, it's fiction. Haha).
Stop ruining my dream of surviving an apocalyptic horde of the recently deceased-ish! Under what other circumstances will I - with my run of the mill normal life - get the chance to make something explode.
(This is Senseless Banter. I feel my enthusiasm is justified.)
Yes! Thank you! That was bugging me that I couldn't remember.
It's impossible to block all exits from a city. Highways, sure. Railroads, maybe, but these are often overlooked. Off road, cross-country, no way. Air borne, no way.
There's always a way out. You just have to think outside the box.
That being said, my zombie plan involves getting to as remote a location as possible. Preferably underground with one way in and it's own water supply. Abandoned mines work well as do large natural caverns. Thing about caverns though is that they seldom only have one entrance, so you'd have to block up everything but one.
Supply list includes couple cases CLiff bars, shotgun, couple hundred rounds of 00 buckshot, side arm (also w/200 - 300 rnds ammo), survival knife, multi-tool, magnesium fire starter, 12 road flares, oil lamp and about 5 gallons lamp oil, rain gear, cooking gear, 9X12 tarp, sleeping bag, compass and topo maps of everywhere between where I am and where I want to be.
Yep. I've put WAY too much thought into this...:D
all your zombie plans have a flaw, your human :D
just get bit and have fun chasing people for eternity
Bite me!
Two more words: Defendable location. That is priority #1. Get there before you have a chance to get infected. Granted, if whatever causes it is airborne, then we're all up chocolate creek without a popsicle stick... unless we stock up on oxygen tanks and large, heavy sheets of plastic.... Would make hunting difficult, though.
Well if the military quarantined your town exits would be hard to come by. One place you dont want to be is a school, its just to scary at night. Hiding in your attic is the best bet, dont draw unwanted attention, how is a zombie gonna get in the attic? Unless its 10ft of course.
I have thought about this very thing for a long time. I'm going to assume this is happening in the spring. I am also going to assume that my family is the only one left in the neighborhood.
First of all we would grab our guns and run to the stores we would loot the various items
- Fresh fruit
- Yeast
- Lumber
- Ammo
- Barbed wire
- Medical supplies
- Vitamin supplements
- Spools of wire
- magnets
- Gasoline
- Tubing
- Tubs
- Nails and srews
- rope
- Canned food
- Various chemicals
- Pet food
- Seeds
- fertilizer
- sand bags
- various plumbing supplies
- water pumps
- magnets
We would tear down the back fence with our neighbors and board up all windows and secure all doors we would then put barbed wire on the top of the fences. Then we would create a temporary fence across the street to another house using the lumber, barbed wire and sand bags. We extend it to the stream running behind their house and connect the pumps with the tubbing to draw water from the stream to the tubs. We would there start to ferment the fruit using the yeast and river water. While we still have fresh water we would fill up as many jugs of water as we could.
Using the wire and magnets along with the various gas powered equipment at my house i would attempt to make generators to provide power once the power goes out.
Then over the next several months we would grow crops from seed, rescue people from zombies and steal livestock from nearby ranches. We would also distill the alcohol from the fermented fruit and use it to sanitize the water and expand to more houses. Then when winter comes the Zombies will freeze and we will leave in safety.
now i dont want to be the one whos shiting on the parade but if your the only ones left you should know almost all of that would have been already looted. good plan if the stuff was still in the stores. if you could get all that set up you'd be set.but in reality it would be hell, look at those zombies/infected people in the movies 28 days later or dawn of the dead.Quote:

fast or slow thier still dangerous because only one nick is enough to kill you(infect). hopefully if this did happen we would all get what we can and stay low until we have some control (have guns, water, food, shelter). luckly some of us live in the country were things would be a little easier. what about you people who live in the city? whats your plan or condition with this.
sounds like the perfect time to practice my kung fu.
I would get a gun and shoot my brains out when i only have one bullet.
Before you do all that..............do a reality check! :P
Mass zombies is a posibilty. That shit is scary. Like I am Legend. That shit is scary because
unlike your traditional movie (many victims, one killer), there 1000's of killers and 1 prey.
Now imagine that in reality.
