      I think the point was probably the "I am the NRA" song in the background more than anything. The "patriotic" part could have been his support of his right to bear arms??

      Adopted Megabenman although he disappeared a while ago.

      But what does lifting weights have to do with any of that? My best guess is that he was thinking something like, "I like showing that I can bench press a lot of weight! Yeah!!! And I feel so patriotic! Yeah!!! Therefore, the two themes go together because... Yeah!!!" He thinks with almost 100% emotion.
