      Snakes Are Lonely.

At least I would think they are. Poor snakes. Nobody wants to be their friends. Everywhere they go people run in terror. Either that or they run in freaked out ness. Snakes are just freaking wierd and everything about them screams wierdo.

      Snakes mating.

They don't seem that lonely to me...

Besides, if they are lonely, it's because most of them are shy by nature.

I mean they are lonely in relation to other animals. Puppies and kittens don't have problems with other animals running away from them, but baby snakes are sometime even more freaky than adult ones. Random stray animals are cute...random stray snakes make me squeamish. Snakes make me go in the opposite direction. I assume the make other animals do the same. Excluding other snakes that are the same species.

Hmm, do snakes get along with other snakes if they aren't the same type of snake?

I would imagine so, but then again I'm not a snake.

My opinion is biased though, I've told my mom I wanted a snake as a pet since the 5th grade, but she always said they were for boys.

Maybe the stigma comes from the bible/other mystical connotations of serpents in general...but that's kind of sad really...

Lol. I just don't like snakes. In your mother's case maybe it is the bible thing, but for me it is just a reaction to snakes. Pet snakes wouldn't be a problem for me though, as long as they aren't poisonous. That poisonous part is what gets me. The non poisonous ones don't scare me, unless they are freaking huge and could wrap around my neck and strangle me.

Anyway I don't even know if snakes can feel loneliness. I haven't studied animal minds in any capacity. I just think if I were a snake I would be lonely.

You know really those neglected snakes don't have it so bad when you consider the sorts of weirdos who adopt snakes.

Leave them alone before their lives get any worse!

I have some kitchen knives similar to that. I wonder if he got in trouble with his mom.

I friggin LOVE snakes. Honestly. My entire life, if I ever see a garder snake or something slithering along the ground, I drop what I'm doing to go catch it. If snakes are lonely, then at least they have me.

Snakes rock, I always wanted one as a kid, but my stepdad was terrified of them, so I wasn't allowed. I always try to catch them when I see them, which isn't very often unfortunately. I think they're one of the most kickass animals out there, they're just slick and cool, the way they slither around, just the way they move is badass.

The snake is demonized because of Christianity and the bible,

Kundalini is often associated with the serpent/snake also, that is something the bible wanted to get rid of.. what a good way to make peoples fear of snakes rise.
This was that cult, and the prisoners said it had always existed and always would exist, hidden in distant wastes and dark places all over the world until the time when the great priest Cthulhu, from his dark house in the mighty city of R'lyeh under the waters, should rise and bring the earth again beneath his sway.

And the fact that a number of poisonous didn't have anything to do with it, right?

So far as I can tell, it began with the Egyptian religion and the serpent god Apep (the destroyer, I think). The priests would burn effigies of a snake once a year through some ritual in hopes that they'd banish this most evil of gods. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Oh, right, and before that there were a great deal of snakes that were a no-no to touch, paaaartly because there was a high chance of dying from being poisoned or strangled to death.

I was more speaking of the more recent fear of snakes.

Their are also poisonous mushrooms, less fear cause they don't move?

Destruction is part of the cycle, I just don't see the fear as much in the Egyptians as in the Christian.. Where Satan uses serpents to corrupt men..

I don't know why you think the fear of snakes stems from the bible rather than the bible's criticism of snakes stemming from the fear of snakes.

No, they just have the problem of other animals running towards them, very fast, and eating them when they get there.

Because many cultures have worshiped snakes as gods.

      Aren't many gods feared?]

Are you really trying to say that snakes are frightening to people because of the bible rather than because they are dangerous?

I must agree that snakes rock. Heck they even inspired my username. I always wanted one as a kid but my mom finds them gross so I didn't get to have one.
