Right Brain/ Left Brain

I see it spin clockwise, but it's easy to change it when you get the hang of it. Look at the her feet or the shadow, flick your eyes and do it mentally

Counter clockwise... and i cant make it go clockwise doesnt matter how hard i try, it just wont.

Absolutely!!
With the restraint of the fact that most savants don´t have a disturbance in right-left hemispheric connectivity.
But some do.

I found it helpful to read the article below - not only for content, but while you focus on reading the text - the figure does it´s own thing to your mind and switches if you don´t directly focus on it.

I could do it, when I first saw it some years ago - but I had problems just now - until reading that article.

Probably because we're used to seeing people move forward and it is logical to assume that she would spin that way.

Seems it´s indeed most people´s default interpretation - going clockwise.
I don´t know if it´s about "forward" - maybe rather that most people are right-handed and -footed and such tend to turn clockwise, if only asked to turn.. not completely sure there, though.
