Is my friend really that stupid?

She lied to me. I confront her just to see if she would be mature enough to admit it. She gives me a whole thing on a whole 'nother subject. I keep asking why she lied. She just won't . I then said well if you aren't going to be mature about it I don't know why I am talking to you. "I don't get you". Seriously are some people really that stupid, who don't want to admit their wrong?
