Today I learned that dogs have a 'knot' at the base of their penis called the bulbus glandis. It kind of looks like testicles and it inflates once the dog has entered the female so they stay tied together during intercourse.

I learned this because I recently bought a bed for my 8 month old puppy, but instead of sleeping on it, he just humps it. Normally nothing 'comes' of it, so to speak, but today he managed to 'go all the way'. I hadn't been paying attention to him and when I came in the room he was standing really still and his penis was fully out of the sheath and it looked like his testicles were as well. I was afraid he had been too vigorous and they had somehow become distended. I looked it up and found out it was normal and not the testicles at all.

What did you learn today, and how did you learn it?
