      Dream Deja Vu?

      Hi all,

I recently started my dream journal for the first time. And, I noticed occasionally that when reminiscing and writing about a dream in the morning, it would jog my memory about previous dreams... or atleast apparently. The only way I can explain this feeling is similiar to deja vu. I would 'remember' a dream I had previously had, but I can not distinguish wether it was a dream I had a few days or weeks ago, or whether it was another dream I had that same night (as of course you dream more than once in a night). I was wondering if anyone knows what I'm talking about and wether they have experienced this before... and what it really is?

      Thanks.

Well, I dont knwo if this is simmilar, but my dreams always remind me of other dreams ive had years and years ago. Its funny because in a dream i will always visit a place ive been to before in a dream once. Its pretty cool, like last night i was watching this dvd in my dream that was created like 4 years ago in anther dream. I remember seeing it in the tv and I was like, oh cool this movie is awsome it is one of my favs. And the movie only existed from an old dream... Our memory is really open to us when we dream. I think your mind is just recolecting old dreams.

I get it, but only during the actual dream. I get a feeling I've been there before, when I haven't. It rarely triggers lucidity, though.

I know I have re-visited dreamscapes several times. Just a couple of nights ago, I had a dream where I was in my friend's garage and my mom handed me some papers from a wheel barrel full of them. As I started reading it, I knew exactly what was on it. I have also had recurring dreams (flying fish near HS, in the desert near the tree and hotel) in which I have done them at least twice. Some of mine are months apart too.

The cool thing is, I can go back to my dream journal six months earlier, and start reading some of the dreams. They will trigger the next couple of entries in the dream journal. At one point, I would be able to pull back the entire dream and replay through it.

What is it really? I think it's just an improving memory. That's all, you are getting better at recalling things because you are exercising it.
