      ...a minor mystery...

      I just thought of this, but it has happened to me several times in my life, and I'm curious as to if this has ever happened to anybody else.
      It defies all laws of reality.

      Many times when I'm having a dream, something will happen (No really! Stuff happens!)
      ...something will happen, that coincides with the outside world, and makes a loud noise, however my dream LEADS UP to that moment.

      I know that this makes no sence, so I will give an example.
      One time I was sleeping on the bottom bunk of a bunk bed. I dreamed that a giant bee was flying around the room. Suddenly, it turned towards me, and flew right at me. Just as the bee hit my face, a pillow fell from the top bunk and landed on my face.

      Yes, this could very well be coincidence, but it happens all the time. A lot of times, the event that is happening in my dream is EXACTLY what is happening IRL.

      I thought at first, that perhaps I was picking up on some minor sounds that were associated with the events, which fed the events into my dreams, but sometimes I am positive that there are no minor sounds associated with the events, like when I dream that I have called my friend on the phone, and tell him to come over. He says he will be there in two seconds, and a few seconds later, he will walk in and wake me up (I never lock my door).

      Does anybody know what I'm talking about?

      I know what you're talking about.

      You probably won't believe this... but that just happened to me at about 3:30!!!

      I laid down to take a nap at 3:00, had a quick dream. Near the end of the dream I moved over to this guy with a laptop computer. I looked at the screen and there was an IM window flashing that had nothing but owned written all across it several times. I woke up suddenly, wondering if 'Owned' was going to be online soon.

      As I made my way from the bedroom to the dining room (where my computer is), sure enough, an IM window just popped up and it was 'Owned'!

      It's happened to me before with IM and with the telephone. Not very often, but enough times to be more than a coincidence.

      Wow I thought I was the only one

      For me, doors slamming on the outside world seem to effect my dreams most commonly.

      And its wierd, because you are right how the dream leads up to it. Usually my dream starts the event a second or two before I hear the door slam.

      Yes - this same thing happens to me, too! I've never been able to figure out how it happens either. Weird!

      Sometimes I will hear my cat from the LDs I have, and if I do, I usually wake up, and beat him up!

      Othertimes, for some odd reason, I hear a buzzing sound in my dreams, and when I wake up, I look around, but nothing....
      If I hear a loud noise from the real world inside a LD, I will most likely jump, and crash into the ceiling.
      If I feel the sound from the object can hurt me, I will often wake up and beat the stuffing out of it. If I know it is safe, I could leap out of bed in another LD, especially if done during the trans state.

      I can always hear things from the outside world in dreams, and that may be one of the reasons why I can tell I am dreaming all the time. I cannot hear or sense things in dreams where I go in the other room and read the book, watch Iraqies, etc though....

      I knwo what you are talking about too. I think our minds just make up the leading up event after it happens. Its only memory, our dreams can just shove a memroy quickly into our heads after the event so we just beleive that we had a dream that led up to it.

      Burns and Blade definately have this right.
      Blade, I was actually holding back, mentioning doors, just to see if someone else would say it. This happens all the time. A door will start closing in my dream, and then right when it slams, a door will slam in real life.

      Freaky.

      So, I'm not the only one.

      I'm so scared now.
