      did you change?

alright well i just have to post this because i am pissed.

is there anyone here who thought they knew what lucid dreaming was, then they actually had one and it was way different? like you thought your dream felt like real life until you had a real lucid dream? like you thought you had control, but after you found out about lucid dreaming you got a lot more? sorry i am just curious. my friend thinks she can lucid dream but she seemed so.... not excited about it.... i dunno.

I don't think there's anyone who knows exactly what LD's are like until they have one. I thought it would feel exactly like I do when I'm awake, but it's not, my mind feels......disconnected. It's a pretty cool feeling I think actually.

But anyway, some people just have different interests. Only one of my friends seemed interested about LDing at all, but she never really got into it. I guess it all depends on the person.

Well I’ve had all different degrees of lucidity. There are ones where you "know" you are dreaming, but this still remains a distant concept and you aren't able to fully actualize it. Then there are others where its BAM I’m dreaming, completely aware of it and have the lucidity and calm frame of mind to experiment with it. Maybe she just gets the former, or maybe the thought of a virtual reality playground in her mind just doesn't appeal to her.

The experience is never the same for anyone, much like any life experience. I mean, you can increase your control abilities and this can enhance the effect, but sometimes, plain old LDing, at the normal, non-honed level, can be quite mundane....My first LD, I didn't have much control...I had to learn it. Perhaps she can LD, but doesn't know how to control things and use it more effeciently to do what she wants.

This gets me too. I can't relate to those people who have a sort of "big deal! So what?" reaction to LDing. Something about it makes me not want to trust them and their tales.. but that's just me.

Yeah, it's different. I thought dream control would be easy, and while I'm getting the hang of it last time I had an LD, it isn't. Also, my LDs are much brighter than my normal dreams - one hint my dream's going to last a long while is if the colours are sunny and bright. I wasn't expecting that.

My first was actually very much like I expected. That's not to say it wasn't absolutely amazing, exciting and surprising on many levels. It was and still is.

when i first started, before having an LD, it sounded like the most awesome thing ever. but sometimes an LD felt like it didnt happen, but i just wake up and remember it, like i didnt live it. but i guess they werent much lucid and the recall was bad
