      Staying up longer, sleeping less.

Well, I'm a teenager, and it's the summer. And, since I have no car(which means no social life aorund here) I don't have anywhere to be. So, this has lead to me stay up progressively later, and later. Plus I just don't like going to sleep. I've gotten to the point where staying up about 18-24 hours is the norm, and I only sleep about 5-6 hours.

I only feel tired during the morning, but that's simply cause there's nothing to do, the rest of the day I feel just fine.

How unhealthy would you suppose this is? Any possible longterm side-effects? Just curious.

You'll eventually crash. I do this all the time, even during school. Since you're not doing much of anything, you can keep it up for quite some time before you crash.

It's four right now; I need to be awake in three hours. I already crashed last week though, so I'm fine.
Long-term? Using reasoning, I doubt it. Unhealthy? Oh, very. Then again, so is eating junk food and drinking soda and tons of other things. Plus, your body will get tired and you'll get sick a hell of a lot easier. And it will last longer. I went through a time last year when after several cycles of staying up, crashing, getting sick, staying up, crashing, getting sick, I just couldn't do it anymore. Once my body fully recovered, it's fine.

I'm just not doing it as much anymore. I take naps!

Well, I only drink water (aside from one or two cups of coffee), take multi-vitamins, eat decently, and do light excercise through these 24+ hours that I'm awake. I sleep about 6-7 hours and repeat.

Think of how productive I could be with 24 hours worth of time. =p

Doesn't matter how much water or vitamins you take (although that does extend your time very much, and will probably keep you from getting too sick, if sick at all), your body needs sleep. And your body will eventually shut down to get that sleep, when it needs it desperately enough.

Hell, MY body needs sleep. Good night!
