      Unable to Sleep

I've been having weird days where I just can't sleep. I have to take a sleeping pill or relaxation pill. I just lay in bed endlessly, trying to "relax", but my mind is fully conscious. None of the more obvious things are affecting me (stress, caffeine, bathroom, etc.). Even after taking a pill, reading, or listening to music, it still takes about another 1 hour to fall asleep. I've been going to bed at around 9:30 to 10PM and trying to wake up around 7:30-8:00AM to get ready for school (starting in a few days). What do you suggest I do?

      Also!
On a completely different subject, for some reason, I haven't been affected by alarm clocks. I've been trying to WBTB or whatever and I don't even remember waking up to turn off my alarm. As far as waking up in the morning with my other alarm, I wake up a few minutes after I have turned it off (but I don't remember turning it off, or hearing it for the matter). Kind of strange. I don't exactly know the solution for this dilemma.

What really does help me when I cannot sleep at all, is to keep calm, breathe slowly, and imagine that you are in a lucid dream. Close your eyes and relax, think about where you would like to go in this lucid dream, people you want to talk to, events that you would like to cause. Really helps the mind relax, and your mind will wander, but bring it back to the original subject until you fall asleep.

Btw, you get more sleep than I do if you fall asleep at that time, I'm asleep 10-11:30 and I wake up about 6:30.
Question: Which came first, the chicken or the egg?
      Answer: Neither, single-celled organisms did.

I'm almost in the same boat, I sleep too much. Keep your alarm clock out of arms reach, one person suggested to me. Get out of bed to turn it off, as most people hate the sound of an alarm clock, they want it off as soon as possible. Also read about the method of relaxing called 99 Breaths if you haven't already.

Have no fear, my sleep-deprived friends!

I've had the same problem as you for most of my life (young-aged insomnia, dammit) and I thought I'd tried everything. Relaxing just doesn't work for some people.

      Get Melatonin.

It doesn't need to be perscribed, it's cheap and completely natural. It's a horomone that's produced naturally in your brain to make you tired. I don't know if it's even possible to OD, and it's garunteed to work.

You can get it at your local drug store almost anywhere. You take it about fifteen minutes before you go to bed.

      Try it!
When I close my eyes it looks like this...

That's your problem right there. Too much melatonin has a reverse effect. Take 3MG or 1MG, see how that works.

      Hi everyone!

      Hi...

I also have the same problem as you are having. But still i tried to sleep as much as i can. As my daily routine is so tiring that i don't have time to look after myself. Please suggest me something otherwise it will effect my health badly.

The only truly healthy sleep aid is exercise. Its nearly impossible to have trouble sleeping when you exercise a lot. I'm sure there are very rare exceptions, but for the most part insomniacs are couch potatoes.

I had this a while ago to. i wasn't able to sleep in 5 days.
I tried everything but i just wasn't able to fall asleep.
i think it's what you're thinking about that it dependes on.
I had a lot of worries and sadness that i was thinking about.
I could hardly fall asleep after taing double dose of sleeping pills.
Just wait for better times and then sleep like a child

      Ya I'm like this too.
I'll be dead tired when I get into bed but in five minutes I'm wide awake. I'll lay in bed for hours sometimes all night just trying to sleep. I feel like I have to get so exhausted trying to sleep before I finely can.

I even tried melatonin last night but it was worse. (it was 3mg melatonin plus, it also had 25mg theanine if that makes a difference)
