      Making a schedule

I've decided to try an Everyman or Uberman sleep schedule for a month or so. Mostly to test my dedication, and as a method to get myself in the habit of 'getting things done'. The past couple of months, ever since having to take night classes, I have been sleeping from around 4-5am until noon.

I just got used to this schedule, but I feel weird waking up with half of the day gone, although I enjoy the night awake too much

The one problem that is preventing me from starting is a schedule. I attend night classes for about 5 hours a class once a day, along with a 15 or so minute drive to the apartment. I don't work during the day, yet but I'm sure I could fit a part time job in there.

Since my classes are 5 or so hours, plus the 15 minutes for the drive back, that doesn't really work for the Uberman schedule of 20min naps every 4 hours. Afaik, the schedule is supposed to be strict; every 4 hours on the dot.
Would it work if I did it every 4 hours except that one part of the day?

If Uberman is just not applicable, I am fine with Everyman. What are the best times to take a 3 hour core and 3 20min naps?

      Thanks

Everything I have read about Uberman says that you need strict adherence to the nap-every-4-hour schedule, so I wouldnt go the route of stretching that one nap out.

I am by no means an expert and I do not know the available vs unavailable times you can sleep so it would be very hard to give you any specifics as to the best times for your schedule. Having said that, I have recently tried the Everyman with some success and can give a few recommendations.

I would plan on timing your core for whatever time (prolly a time between 4am-noon... closer to 4am though) you feel you are most tired. After a 3 hour core you are left with 21 hours in the day for 3 more naps so you'll want to divide these up into segments that are as even as is possible. something like... 3 hour core -> 5 hr awake -> 20 min nap -> 5 hr awake -> 20 min nap -> 5 hr awake -> 20 min nap -> 5 hr awake, making a total of a 24 hour day ... should work out fine.

You might want to go hard core and try the Dymaxion schedule.

That involves a nap every 6 hours, which would get you through class if you schedule it right.

      Hard core = unsubstantiated
Other than the guy who 'pioneered' it, I haven't heard of a single person getting dymaxion right

      EDIT:
To elaborate on Subatomic's post, everyman is probably your best bet.
It's essentially what I'm doing now. Core sleep from 4am to 7am, naps at midday, 6pm and either 10pm/midnight. Or skip 6pm and do 10pm and midnight. Either or.
      Much more achievable
