      Some questions on Everyman

      Hello everyone,

I just came across this forum on Google and since I have some unanswered questions on the everyman sleep schedule, I thought this might be the right place to get some answers At the moment it's been five days since the beginning of my attempt on becoming a polynapper (3 hour core sleep en 3x 20min naps) and I'm already beginning to see the huge advantage(s) of it. However, there are some things that have been bothering me..

      1) My core sleep is from 3am-6am, but when I wake up I feel extremely tired. This feeling continues till my next nap at 11am. This has been a huge problem for me, since I'm still in high school. Are there any people with the same problem?

      2) According to many blogs, you shouldn't nap on your bed since it's to cosy. Where should I nap instead? On the ground with a pillow or something? And does this include core sleep?

      3) The basic idea of the uberman sleep schedule is to force yourself into REM within your 20 min nap. Everyman, however, has a core nap of 3 hours (depending on your schedule) in which REM sleep occurs (well, at least it should..) How do you train your body to go directly into REM when it's already getting enough(?) of it?

I hope I can get some answers here, so thanks in advance
(Sorry for my poor English, by the way..)

I'd say your English is quite perfect, if you think it isn't, I'm sure everyone here would agree with me that there really is no problem in that regard =P

      (5) Five days seems like it's still in that "adjusting" phase, if you are still feeling this way in a month I would probably suggest re-thinking your schedule. At this time though, if you're passionate about really sticking this out and trying it, please continue to update this thread, this is something that it quite interesting to myself (and I'm sure some / many others as well).

On the other hand though, stopping before it gets out of hand might be a good idea, since being only 5 days in likely hasn't really killed your previous sleeping / working schedule as well, since you are still in school. The reason I say this, is because I'm more than interested in the Uberman / Everyman, etc, yet because of my work I am basically unable to try it. There would be no shame in stopping right now - there *is* a better time to try something like this - namely when you aren't in school or working. (Or trying it during a certain vacation or chunk of time off??)

Reguardless, please give us updates frequently, and rock on if you decide to stick it out.

Unfortunately: no I just couldn't get it to fit in my schedule, so I decided to stop. Now I'm planning to give it another try in the summer break, mainly because I got two friends to join me in my experiment. They don't want to mess with their sleep schedule during the exams and they're probably right..

In the meanwhile I'll be doing some more research on polyphasic sleep. I recently got myself a copy of PureDoxyk's Ubersleep book and I'm still trying to get my hands on a copy of 'Why We Nap' (ISBN: 0817634622) (with no success so far )
