Well i would say a week tops. Dont use any stimulants of any kind to keep you up because thats when all the trouble starts. If you keep it natural with maybe mild use of soda (no energy drinks) you should be fine The brain will automatically knock you out after a certain number of days so dont drive or anything lol. Im planning a week soon. Anything further than 8 days can have bad effects. Altered personality, insomnia. Look at the link on my post that tells you the effects. But if you handle it smartly, you should be fine. I find it rather fun Idc what other people say

My first time trying it i stayed up for 5 days. Day one and two were nothing really, slight paranoia by day 2. Day 3 the hallucinations set in for me. I began seeing objects in poriferals and random shadows of things that weren't there and stronger paranoia. Day 4 the hallucinations were much stronger and i began mistaking objects for other things (ex. spoon for tv controller lol) Extremely paranoid. Day 5 i had some hardcore hallucinations. I was seeing things like crazy, cats, bugs in my shoe, spider webs, mistaking things for people and cars. I was like walking in a dream. Then i decided to sit on my bed to play a game (bad idea) the second my ass hit the soft bed my head slammed back onto my bed and then i dont remember what happened. I woke up 13 hours later perfectly fine with full memory of my sleep deprivation experience.

Ok..this expirement of yours is how I live.
      I hardly sleep.

It only gets dangerous after a few days.
Like going 48 hours with out sleep, I don't recomend it..but you won't die.

But..four or five days with out sleep isn't smart.
Just nap two hours a day if you are going for the four or five day period of sleep depervation expirence.

Just be smart, once you start getting sick, I suggest you stop and try to get normal amounts of sleep.

      Warning!
This will mess up your sleep pattern.

Pretty bad, I tried this for a week.

      I don't sleep anymore.

You can get back into sleeping after you try it, but it gets really hard.
I hope you will be safe if you decide continue with this, the dreams are quite interesting, but maybe it isn't worth it.

Well that all depends EchoSun, how did you handle it? Did you stay up with the help of stimulants, like caffiene and whatnot or naturally? I've stayed up for 5 days and my sleeping patterns were the exact same the next day.

I have done both...I drank alot of caffine and stayed up, and decided it wasn't every bright to do that. So I stopped drinkin ghtme for three days, and still could not get back to bed.
I guess it really all depends on who you are and how much you are capable of sleeping.

I don't sleep for one reason, and that is...because when I do..I could sleep for 15 hours and still want more.

Plus the longer you stay awake the more you body adjusts to it, and gets use to it.

I've gone 48 hours of sleep during my first two years of college, usually during finals. I crashed the day after and slept like a dead person for almost an entire day.

I would say a week too. I think I tried that when I in my tweens (had gotten a new video game).
I heard that sleep deprivation can shorten your life span.

When you dont sleep as much as much as your supposed to, it does shorten your life (nothing major) unless you do it alot.
