      Something wrong with my sleeping?

Okay so my sleeping habits are completely stupid.. where to begin..

I can never get to sleep anytime before 1am-3am, unless I've just come home from school totally exhausted, in which case, mum gets home and wakes me up so I only get like half an hour at that time, but I try not to because I usually wake up grumpy lol. When I try to sleep it takes a few hours at least (no matter how tired I am,) to fall asleep. Sometimes I don't even sleep at all and sometimes (lasting for a week or something) I only sleep every second day, this happens every so often very randomly. Though last week I didn't sleep for 3 days straight. Sometimes I don't sleep because:

      a) usually because I just can't.
      b) sometimes I have some weird fear that I won't wake up in the morning, that I'll die so in my sleep ( I have a pretty big fear of death) I'll usually talk to myself about what I have to do tomorrow to make myself think kind of that I'm 'not allowed' to die because I have something I have to do the next day. So if I get myself worried about that enough, I can't sleep.
      c) Because I have a bit of a fear of someone breaking into my house, and be too worried to be able to get to sleep.
      d) or Because I'm afraid to have more nightmares (More than half my dreams are nightmares, and they tend to freak the shit out of me.)

Rarely on weekends, like today, I sleep for ages (9 hours is heaps compared to my usual hours) and I'm still so tired but I don't want to sleep longer because it's a total waste of the day (+ I have lots of homework ^^). But contrast to that, sometimes when I get like no sleep at all, I'll be totally hyper and active the next day. It's so stupid.

I have nooo Idea what I have (besides a bit of ocd and anxiety disorder, not sure if they're related or not because I don't have them too badly.) Does anyone else get anything like this? Can anyone give suggestions as to what it is (if its something) or how to help it? I'm annoyed at always being tired during school n stuff. I'll be surprised if anyone reads ALL of this, I tried to cover most of the problems lol, but any help will be greatly appreciated, thanks heaps guys!

      *Edit*
Also one more thing, I heard that you're only supposed to sleep in rem stage which happens heaps later on in your sleep right?. Well a number of times my dreams start within minutes while I'm still half awake, and sometimes in like a second, which happened like a few days ago at school.
I was trying to stay awake (hadn't slept for a few days) and I was listening to the teacher talking trying hard to keep my eyes open and listen, then next thing I know I'm at some weird place, my friend is playing a guitar and heaps of us are sitting around talking, then I realized I was dreaming and woke myself up. Also something like that happened yesterday I was lying on the couch watching tv, and I didn't even realize I was fell asleep because the dream started like a second after I closed my eyes, in an instant I went from watching tv, to being in a super market picking out already fried eggs from the shelf, then a weird creature jumped at me and I woke up lol. This ever happen to anyone?

Well, I can see how the OCD and Anxiety are hinderance to your sleep....

You should look into getting a prescription for Sleeping Pills like Ambien or something. I have pretty bad insomnia but no where near as bad as yours so i dunno, i guess im in the same boat as you.

If the sleeping pills don't work try workng out before sleep, so you'll be exhausted when you go to bed and fall asleep much quicker.

If all else fails and you think you're responisble enough i recomend smoking a bongbowl of weed before bed. It should help you sleep and on the plus side it causes you not to remember your dreams.

      "edit"

Good luck too, i know what its like being sleepy and groggy going to school. It's a bitch...
