      Lucid dreaming and health

So, hello, i tried to introduce my dad into lucid dreaming, and he said he does not want to have a taste because he does not kjnow about health repercutions...

As fas as i know in my 4 year lucid dreaming experiences, thay make me feel tired next day, once i was on a super extreme LD and i wonk up with 130beats/minute(near a hart atack) but nothing else happened, ive also seeen that exagerating can make u antisocial, ur brain will "overheat", causing u some headackes, and it is some kind of addictinx

Anyway Iconsider that 3 LD's per week wont cause any secondary effect on my health... but I'd like to hear ur oppinions!!!

Have a nice day, and a nice night also...

I highly doubt it will have a huge effect on your health. You say your heart beats fast, well, when you run your heart beats fast? So what, doesn't mean much. Then again, you wake up from nightmares and your heart is usually beating fast. So, I dont know I guess. Im not very good at this subject but I would guess it has no effect on health. The only part it would could be lack of sleep trying?

I had lucid dreams as a child with no health effects at all.

Since returning to lucid dreaming as an adult, I've had no ill effects. In fact, I wake from lucid dreams feeling GREAT.

You might want to pick him up a copy of Stephan LaBerge's book, Exploring The World Of Lucid Dreaming. There is a lot of information about studies and whatnot in that book, and it is available in paperback from any book store.

Well, this should not be surprising, since lucid dreaming, like all forms of conscious experience, is comprised of a flow of subjective events created by brain processes using input from sensory-perceptual modalities, internal algorithms or schemata and, perhaps, poorly understood neuronal activity associated with central nervous system homeostatic maintenance. Variability in individual experience is inherent at all levels.

      like he said

And lucid dreaming also makes the rest of my day so much better. It especially helps me concentrate which can't be overvalued.

      After 2 years

Yeah, seems like LD wont damage my health, but, abuse of "extreme" situations, or induced nightmares will make my body produce an extra of adrenalin... It will raise my heartbeat, and, in a long term (20 yeart at least) it can give me some problems...(since having a high heartrate without beeing running can cause for example hypertension...) but the again, only abuse...

      Ty, also about the book
