Sleeping only two hours a day. Possible?

My friend showed my this the other day and I found it very interesting, and I started to question if this can actually be done.

obs: it is a huuuge image.

To make the long history short, it is a article - from I don't know where exactly - that explains how you can sleep only two hours a day and feel completely rested. The trick is to instead of sleeping a long period at once, sleep in short periods throughout the day, in which the article shows that there are many variations that one can perform.

The most extreme possibility is to take six 20 minute naps during the 24 hours of the day, which I wonder:
      1) Could this actually work?
      2) Would that kind of sleep be only REM? Because if that is the case, well, then this method would amazing to train WILD.

So, if you guys were interested to read the article - which, though long, I found to be very interesting and informative - what are your thoughts about it?

Yea this sound great, and it IS a good way to get into the dream state/altered state. Once you star "dreaming" the trick is to stay conscious and not fall asleep or let the halucinations take over. Try it out and see what hapens. I used to do something similar. I have progresseed some so i just need ot close my eyes and do a short meditation and im off into a dream/obe. Let us know of your experiences and good luck.

The most important thing here to be taken care of is the amount of rest that you provide to the brain. The brain isn't resting even when you sleep. The dreams that you see are because the brain is still up. It is found that the brain requires rest for only a short interval and more importantly the subconscious mind will still be working.

Now, the idea about having 6 small naps of twenty minutes each would be a very good technique to provide the rest to the mind whenever it requires, so that wouldn't require you to take more sleep and just a two hours sleep would be enough to keep you going. The implementation of this would take a little time as our body isn't accustomed to this but it won't be long before you will be following the regime strictly.

Well, it's possible if I'm not mistaken. I think it's also called uberman or something along those lines. Look it up on wikipedia under polyphasic sleep

      Hello friends

Sleep is a naturally recurring state of relatively suspended sensory and motor activity, characterized by total or partial unconsciousness and the inactivity of nearly all voluntary muscles.[1] It is distinguished from quiet wakefulness by a decreased ability to react to stimuli, and it is more easily reversible than hibernation or coma. Sleep is a heightened anabolic state, accentuating the growth and rejuvenation of the immune, nervous, skeletal and muscular systems. It is observed in all mammals, all birds, and many reptiles, amphibians, and fish. In humans, other mammals, and a substantial majority of other animals that have been studied (such as some species of fish, birds, ants, and fruit flies), some form of sleep may be essential for survival

      Thanks for all friends
