Indeed. Last time I checked, they were still constantly sold out at BestBuy, etc.

console manufacturers (particularly Nintendo) have always restricted the supply.
builds hype, and seems more "exclusive" so people will pay more

anyone remember those grey market Asian imported SNES units?

I just came back from gamecrazy, they're saying they might get six in tomorrow but to come early because in two hours they're usually gone!

Finding a Wii is still as hard as when it was first released, sorry for the bad news. Nintendo just severly underestimated its popularity from the beginning.

Get a PS3, I'm sure you won't have problems... haha.

I've only played the wii like twice. I have yet to see one at a store. Try buying online.

Theres only bundles and overprized systems.

Like Amazon has just the we for like about 338.99.

A Wii really shouldn't be that hard to get, but if you're really having trouble, get on eBay. Never fails. If for some odd reason that doesn't work, just go to every game store you can think of and ask if they have it. There must be an electronics store other than the one you mentioned near you.

I am shocked to the core that the wii is still hard to find. I have a wii but I seem to have misplaced it because I stopped giving a damn. :p Oooooops.

I'vee been everywhere. Walmart (5 of them), Target (2 of them), Bestbuy (3 of them), and then the little stores like gamestop or gamecrazy. I'm thinking of trying again next week. I dont need it that bad.

I'd say just buy it off Amazon, I mean, it's not *that* much more expensive there.

Wow I was wrong about the price or its just gone up. Looks like the least expensive is 369.99 New.

But the weirdest part is that the used systems a ridiculously higher and overprized than the new systems.

Actually, waiting would be a good thing I think. I own one and there haven't been any games to make it worth it yet apart from the Resident Evil 4 port. Wait for production to increas nearer christmas or something.

Ah what about Zelda Twilight Princess? Granted that one is for Gamecube too.

Hmm, last time I saw there were a few still left here... but like someone has mentioned, couldn't you just buy one online? Or maybe just ring around before going to the places. Or what about your equivalent of EB Games?

Yea, indeed. Three people on my street have bought them with hardly any trouble. Why everyone thinks they're so good I have yet to find out... Guys, get a Xbox 360, they're way better!

I have a 360 but rarely use it. I have played a Wii before. My friend has one in his house in Austria, so we would have a day snow boarding, get some food, have some drinks playing Wii. Its AWESOME!!!

I think its cool that I can work up a sweat playing the Wii. It is pretty dangerous, though. I've witnessed someone get hit in the face with controller.

Fun Wii fact. It has been deemed unsafe since some guy accidentaly threw a controller out his window, which then fell on a woman and KILLED her.

I'm pretty sure that's not true. A woman did die from water intoxication in a contest to win a Wii though.

At the topic starter, you're never going to get one if you just walk into the store and go "Hey! Do you have a Wii left?". Pre-order one, get yourself on the list. The Wiis usually sell out within 2 hours of their arrival, which is quite early in the morning. Pre-ordering will put you on the list, and the pre-orders always get handled before they sell it to people just barging in. On the other hand, some stores don't do pre-orders. I'm sure you'll manage to find one that does, though.

Also, the falling out of window and killing thing is complete and utter bullshit of course. The Wii remote is not heavy enough to kill someone, and it can hardly have built up enough force by being thrown out of a window, not even from 20 stores high. A fracture perhaps, but definitely not a death blow.

And it's not the Wii hunt "all over again", the Wii hunt is still going on since it started for the first time
