      Wii-Linksys trouble

      I have a linksys wireless-G broadband router (model WRT54GS), and it seems to set up a connection fine with my other computer. However, when I try to connect My Wii to the network, it says "the password you have entered is incorrect". I have a feeling this has something to do with the fact that every time I open the Linksys "Easy"linkadvisor, it asks me to setup my router for the first time (which I've already done dozens of times). Can somebody help me?

      ok this could be it. It probly coded the password in a language that only linksys can understand, or a WEP password. Like say (and this is only an example) my password phrase was "Dreamviews" the WEP language would understand it as "736D5843B39W953Q1". So you need to find out what that WEP language has for your password phrase and write it down and then put it on the wii password screen. I hope that helps.

      Incorrect. Your WEP-encrypted passphrase has a Q and W in it. WEP only goes from 0-9 and A-F, I'm afraid. Also, your passphrase was way too long. WEP passes are 10 characters, mostly, though you can have other lengths (like 26).

      ?????????????? What was the point of me having in parentasies (THIS IS JUST AN EXAMPLE) I have no idea what the WEP really is! I just put letters and numbers at random. Anyone could easily tell that this wasn't actually a real WEP password. And if they did, I made a point not to believe so, because its just AN EXAMPLE.

      By the way Musicman, let me know if your problem was solved.

      thanks for your input, and I think I know what WEP encoding you are talking about (I think I tried it earlier, with no success). Unfortunately, I think the problem lies in the software not being able to detect my router when I open it. It also seems like my computer itself can't detect the router, even though the internet works fine

      first off, make sure you've got the latest firmware for your router
      http://www.linksys.com --> downloads

      Add your Wii's MAC address to the routers whitelist
      quick google says that the mac address can be found under the "Console Information" menu on the wii
      (\_ _/)
      (='.'=)
      (")_(")
