Thread: Need help looking for an adapter.

I currently am using a 7.1 Surround sound system made for a pc with my xbox 360. The plugs for the speakers include 3, 1/8 inch, one green, one black, and one beige-ish. I currently have only the black and green ones plugged into this adapter which changed those two 1/8 plugs to your classic video game system sized plugs, (red and white audio plugs). I am looking for an adapter that i can use which i can put my xbox 360 audio out through all three of my sound system's plugs.. Please tell me if you know of such a thing. Thanks!

first up, 3 stereo jacks on your surround sound indicate 5.1 surround, not 7.1
6 channels - 3 front, 2 rear and a bass

Green plug = Front left & right
Beige plug = Rear L & R
Black plug = Front centre & bass

What you need as an upmixer
If such a thing exists on the shelves of electronics stores, then the easiest option is just to buy one
(I personally have never seen a consumer audio upmixer available in shops, I don't think the demand is there to warrant such a device)

but you could build your own
now, this could be quite a nice project if you like DIY & electronics
you could go all out and make a kick arse upmixer with all the trimmings

A = frequency splitter (anything below 120Hz goes to right fork, anything above goes left)
B = Mixer (mixes evenly 2 channels into 1)
C = 3-way splitter (splits 1 channel into 3 evenly)






Dunno, it may even work......

I get the feeling he wasn't too impressed with my suggestion....
