      Video card stuff

Hey, just wanting to ask. Why has my video card evaporated? I mean, I had my computer formatted, StepMania worked at least. But now I'v installed it again, it doesn't work. It comes up with like "Get OpenGL" and Direct3D. I was a bit confused by that, I ran Dxdiag (think that's it). I go to 'Display' and it says N/A on all the video driver things, and I'm thinking "But it was working before it was formatted!". So does anyone know why it's all turned to shit?

Also, how do I make my scrolling smoother? Like, actually let the internet scroll through pages normally without....ugh....

Nah, there isn't one listen there, is it a video codec?

Yeah, it should be under display after dxdiag.... the drivers may not even install properly if it can't be detected.

Because you've formatted the hard disk, the drivers are no longer on your machine.

You need to install them again. Go to the NVidia/ATI/Whatever website, and download them from there.

Check the original spec when you bought the machine or ask your parents, brother etc. or whoever may know, if the graphics card name doesn't appear anywhere else... but it should.

Would it be possible to just download and install this?

      http://www.driverfiles.net/Video-Ada...32,436,5,.html

If so, can someone tell me where the bloody download button is?

It depends if your machine has that graphics adaptor. If you're sure it does, you can download it from Intel's website.

If you aren't sure, try Start > Run > msinfo32. It should tell you somewhere what adaptor or video card you have.

Actually, it's fine now. My mum brought some disk over and updated the driver with it. It had a question mark by it on Add Hardware. So it's fine now, thanks for the help anyway!
