      Recomended Liniux OS for Flashdrive

      I have a question about Linux. You see, my laptop's hard drive failed, and I was wondering if anyone new of a Linux OS bootable by Flash drive, so I can keep using the laptop until I get a new one. I recall an article in popular science tittled "$80 computer" I read, but I lost the magazine... My Flash drive is 256 MB, if that will help...

      Anyone know of one?

      Damn Small Linux

      it's based on Knoppix (the original linux live-CD)
      and totals about 50mb
      leaving you, hopefully, with sufficient space to use it effectively

      Obviously, you will need to install DSL on the flash drive from another bootable machine
