Has my ipod breathed its last?

I unplugged my ipod from its charger this morning and it didn't turn on for even a second. I tried resetting it, I tried pressing various combinations of buttons.. nada.

      Meh?

It could be your charger. If there was a short in the charger it could have drained the battery down to nothing, in which case it will have to be charged for like ten minutes before anything will show up. Plug it into your computer and wait and see. How old is it?

What have you tried, have you tried the reset combination.

Hold down the center button and the menu button together for about 20 seconds and see if it resets. It could be your battery, does it turn on if you plug it into the charger?

Also, how long have you had it? I read about this, and according to various sources, some of the more recent iPods are only designed to last about a year or two. Thats how they get your money.

Let me know, i have had similar problems and have fixed them.

Crap that's a good point.. I did plug it into the computer but only waited about a minute before giving up. It's really old, it's a mini from 3 or so years ago.

Holy crap!! You are a genius. I can't believe that worked. Plugging it into the computer and the regular charger didn't work, holding down the center button by itself didn't.... gaaah I must have tried all the combos except this one. THANK YOU!

I can't believe this thing still works. Wow. It's very hardy. I've dropped it so many times, it's gotten rained on, it's gotten frozen and thawed... man.

No need to reply to my PM then lol.

No worries, if you have any problems at all, holding those two buttons usually does the trick.

      All the best.

While we're on the subject, isn't there a way to get to this "boot" like menu on an ipod? I've seen a friend do it.

Edit: Goldney. Don't post again. O.o

It's so cold around here that frost forms on it on my walk to class.

Here's my issue, the disk wheel is stuck. I can't click those two buttons at once (or either the left and bottom ones for that matter). I'm starting to get tired of pausing by taking out the earphones .

Have you plugged it in since it's been frozen?

Mine got stuck once and I just kinda shifted it back into place. Like a dislocated joint or something.
