Tell me what's up with my computer

My laptop has an annoying problem. When I'm writing, the cursor likes to jump. I would be writing a sentence and the next thing I know, my cursor jumps to another sentence. Or jump halfway down the page. This I don't mind much, but sometimes it highlights whole paragraphs and deletes them. It's not the mouse, not the touchpad, and not microsoft word: it's the keyboard. Is it dirty or should I just return this darn thing?

You hit that little mouse-on-keyboard, have brushed the mousepad, or you are indirectly sending Mouse signlas through another progam.

It's probably your touchpad. It depends on the manufacturer, but there should be an option to have it ignore accidental touches.
