Trace a phone number?

I've been getting these creepy phone calls for quite a while now. Someone phones my house and i or someone else answers and then hange up. It happend before i moved and now its happening at my new adress so ya... How do i go about finding out the name and adress of the person whos been doing this exactly? "edit" I checked the area code but where do i go from there? All it tells me is they are either in the same country as me or that they are in the nighbouring country. Not very useful.
