      Ordered new rig xD

      Yes.

The market is just perfect right now. nVidia doesn't release shit (well, the 9800GTX is shit) because they got the monopoly. Intel just came out with 45nm on old 775 socket. RAM is CHEAP as hell. Hard drives just went into the new generation with higher data density.

I ordered my new rig and it should arrive any day now. I'm looking forward to finally playing some recent games and enjoying HDR for the first time.

Paid around 1350 € for this, or 2130 US$, or 1100 £. That really isn't much, considering it comes complete with monitor, mouse and better fans. There should be quite a lot of overclocking potential which will make the rig easily beat a much more expensive Quad+GTX setup in actual use.

      It has:

P182 case with better silent case fans (Scythe S-Flex) *creampants*

      Intel C2D E8400 2x3Ghz with this sucker:
      Xigmatek S1283 Red Scorpion

      4 GB OCZ DDR2-1000 RAM
      NV 8800 GTS G92 512 MB (Asus)
      Western Digital 640GB
      X-Fi XtremeMusic
LG L227WT 22'' monitor with wide color gamut

      Logitech G5 Refresh *creampants*

And all of that is gonna land on this beauty: P5K-E WiFi with WLAN access point, eSATA, Firewire and everything you could hope for.

It's really just a Deluxe in disguise

Building this cutie will be THE PWN and bring my balls to a boil.
I'll head for 2x4Ghz on the CPU.

To be honest: The only reason I'm buying this is Left 4 Dead.

Sweet, I got me an antec too

core 2 duo 1.86 ghz expandable to quad tho, an anti x1650 pro 512 ram, 2 gb sticks, expandable to 8 for this particlar motherboard, which is I believe a Gigabyte 695-p s3 and a large zalaman fan for heat sink, and one inter 320 gb sata seagate, but I have several external drives which should total 800 to 1 TB of storage

But you've got a nice rig there, I was thinking of going with asus before gig, but something drew me to this motherboard

Cool, is that the P180 or the Special Edition of the P182? Looks stylish in that color, are you happy with it? You built it yourself or prebuilt?

I built it myself and am happy with it, but don't let the size fool you when you first get it, the chamber compartments which are supposed to make things neater and easier to remove harddrives and such actually make it a bit cramped inside.

And it's the p180 no special edition, it was cheaper then the 182 at the time i purchased it for 80 bucks and a rebate @>@

I like the silver finish on it, it looks a bit like a fridge.
Well, this will be my first comp to build myself but I don't expect any problems because I've basically exchanged all parts in my current rig one time or another, just never built everything at once.
I think I'll just remove the top chamber and place a fan, for better airflow, since I only got one HDD anyway, and now a total of 8 fans will ship, 4 of which I figure will be too loud, I'll hook them up to USB and aim 'em on my head.

Haha, well thats why I bought external drives, well bought internal drives and put them into external casings, better cooling, and less work for me to have to get better heat sinks and fans and ect

And yeah, thats exactly why I bought it cause of the fridge like accentuations NOOOO, it was cheaper then the black casing

And Ive done the same in the past before I built this one

      Dude.

Consoles suck major nuts except for beat-em-ups, racers and such things. I got my trusty PS2 for that. You can't go wrong with mouse, keyboard and major adjustability. If I can't see the file tree and do stuff with it, I feel like a 3-year old boy playing Lego, not an adult playing serious fucking games!!!!!!!!111111111

But, seriously, $2000 is a lot of money. Is it really worth it for the added seriousness?

Since I earned it myself and my old rig is nearly 5 years old, yes.
I still got my old tube monitor that just pisses me off. 22'' is really the sweet spot for a new TFT and I can't play anything on 1680x1050 so a new rig is a must.
Also I chose the components in such a way that next time I will upgrade instead of buying everything new. The old case isn't all that great, power supply as well... all drives are IDE so I can't really reuse anything of that and just give it away to my niece.

Now I would think if I want a complete upgrade in 3 years or so, I will need only motherboard, RAM, CPU and VGA, that would be it. I can keep all the other stuff: case, monitor, power supply and drives.

looked it up on the manufacturers site

      it's pretty future-proof (supports dual & quad core cpu's)
integrated wireless (it's about time mobo manufacters started doing this, using up an expansion slot / usb port for wifi is a bit of a waste)
also, Asus use nice chipsets (wireless support in any OS will be a breeze)

I'm seriously envious--my rig has seen me through four good years, but it's fast becoming a jalopy, and I has no funds to put into a new system.

It should be a real thrill when you bring that beast to life

Cool, I have everything set up and working. Pics later.

22° at idle and the quietest I ever heard.

Only one problem: I can control all 4 case fans through the mobo but not the CPU fan! Annoying. Mobo needs a 4pin PWM, but I want to use a trusty 3pin.
I also lost one case screw.
