      Sansa View with Mac?

I just got a MacBook for college, and I'm wondering how to transfer all the music from my Sansa View onto the laptop. I don't care whether I put the files into iTunes or Windows Media, just as long as I can put them on the laptop. I did download Windows Media onto the Mac, hoping this would solve my problem, but it seems like an extremely simplified version and does not recognize my Sansa View anyway.

Does anyone know a solution for this? Any help would be much appreciated!

Not familiar with it. Does it have a disk mode? See if you can access it directly though the Finder.

I think it acts like a flash drive, so find it in finder( look under Computer) and then copy the files from the sansa to whatever folder you use for music. The folder called 'Music' might work. Then just open up itunes, and drag the folder in. iTunes just shows music, it doesn't actually store any music.

You don't need Windows Media Player, I never use it for anything.

I have already tried this... I clicked on the Sansa View in the Finder, but the music files stored in it do not appear at all.

You're probably going to need to poke around the hidden folders.

I should probably qualify that... what happens when I connect the device is that it appears on the desktop and in the Finder, and it lists the contents, like system stuff that I don't understand since I'm not very computer-savvy, and even a folder called MUSIC that actually does not have music but album art instead. It's really weird. I don't know where the actual music is... but I'll try using that app, so thanks.

      This answer might work!!!!!11eleven

Go to settings, if it is at all like the E series models, there should be a "USB Mode" option. Disconnect, switch to a different setting, retry. You'll get there eventually (on mine there are two, and Linux/Windows use different ones. I'm guessing the Mac is similar).

      That's your answer, surely.

IdentityX, there is actually not a USB Mode option, the View is different... So I looked online and found several sources saying there still IS a way to switch the mode, by putting HOLD on and then holding down the << button on the left of the wheel until the screen blinks. This, however, did not make a difference. I tried it lots of times with connecting and disconnecting.

      So frustrating!!

I still think the finder is the best bet. The folders might just be hidden, you need to show them. Use this command to show hidden folders:

      Code:
      defaults write com.apple.Finder AppleShowAllFiles YES
To turn it off again type the same thing, but use the NO parameter instead of YES
