      Crap!

      Ugh...

So I un-installed quicktime just a bit ago. I un-installed it because firefox and opera always played mp3's with quicktime by default, instead of letting me download them. I never used it anyways, So I un-installed it.

Now I turn my PC back on, and try to open itunes. Whoop di doo. "Quicktime was not found, it is required to run itunes. Please re-install itunes"

      *bawls*

First of all, am I going to need to install itunes again off of apple.. And 2nd of all, will all my IPOD SONGS be gone? Will I have to go back and put all the songs back in? What's the quickest way of doing this. Obviously there are too many songs ot sit and click at them all to play..

Besides that, how the heck do I get firefox to stop playing mp3's with quicktime by default?

On a side note, I am not tech savvy at all.

      Help is appreciated. Please?

No, iTunes will not erase your songs if you uninstall it.

You may have to re-add them to your library but they will all still at least be there. iTunes uses Quicktime for everything. iTunes is just a music organizer, it has no software that actually plays music or movies, it uses the Quicktime engine for that.

      Oh, I see. Thanks.

Right so I am downloading itunes again right now. And erm, when I try to download it, it says "this link needs to be opened with an application. Send to:" And then you can choose the application. What the heck does this mean? And what do I choose. :p

iTunes keeps a record on your hard drive of your library, so unless you deleted this too it should still be there when you reinstall it

What kind of file is it? It should either be an executable or a disk image. Maybe your browser for some reason is confusing apple.com and it thinks that you're running an OS that you aren't. .exe is for Windows and Linux, .dmg if for Mac, which one is it trying to download?

      .exe

It downloads, but when I run it, it asks me to choose an application to launch itunes with. And I don't know what application to run it with. (Don't remember doing this when downloading itunes previously)
