      Pidgin

      Pidgin isn't working.
      I'm stuck in a perpetual state of "Connecting".
      I've tried rebooting Ubuntu, exiting Pidgin and opening again, uninstalling and reinstalling, nothing seems to fix it. I have a screenshot.
      Halp pl0x.

      what service are you trying to connect to?
      MSN, AIM, Yahoo, Google, etc., etc.?

      could be a several reasons why it's not working
      first and foremost, are you sure about your login credentials?

      I've double checked my credentials a couple times, they are correct.

      So i suppose it'll be a day or two before my Pidgin functions properly again?

      This PPA is maintained by one developer, so please be patient. It often lags behind the source releases a couple of days.

      Canonical are issuing a Stable Release Update for Pidgin in the next few days
      See this bug report

      This means the fix in Pidgin 2.5.7 will be backported to supported prior versions of Pidgin (Hardy = 2.4.1, Intrepid = 2.5.2, Jaunty = 2.5.5)

      you may want to hold off upgrading to Pidgin 2.5.7 yourself, unless your comfortable breaking away from the main repos and managing software on your own
