Does anyone know of a good media centre for Windows that runs on XP home and can use the Pinnacle PCTV 300e adapter? It turns out my adapter doesn't have any included software for viewing TV and obviously I don't have Windows Media Centre installed. |

Doesn't Windows have a built in media centre? |

XP Media Centre Edition, Vista Home Premium and Ultimate and some of the 7 editions do. |

Google "Front Row for Windows" and there seems to be a bunch of people have cloned it. |

Seems like the clone project has been deleted from the site. But I think I'll just get the producents offical software for another release of the same chipset. (God bless piratebay, eh?). |

I know my Pinnacle USB stick has it's own viewing software--even if it didn't come with, you can probably download it somewhere. My experience of trying to use it on my old XP machine was terrible (unstable, inconsistent playback, crash-prone), but I heard that they fixed a lot of that in more recent versions. The point is moot on my Vista machine, as Media Center works flawlessly (probably better than any other element of Vista). |

If you have a sense of caring for others, you will manifest a kind of inner strength in spite of your own difficulties and problems. With this strength, your own problems will seem less significant and bothersome to you. By going beyond your own problems and taking care of others, you gain inner strength, self-confidence, courage, and a greater sense of calm.Dalai Lama
