      Welcome to the dark side
I still don't understand how Microsoft charges over $100 for an OS that they've not changed. Windows 7 = Vista minus the stability issues. Underneath, it's still dll hell, aggressive page swapping, and a mismanaged microkernel, all the things that AT&T solved 40 years ago.

Sure, Windows 7 isn't perfect. But then again, the average user doesn't care about dlls, aggressive page swapping or the microkernel.
Hell I consider myself a power user and I still don't care about that stuff enough to even consider switching to Linux as my main OS purely because it doesn't support the majority of the apps I use and the open source alternatives are nowhere near as good.

Basically, Windows 7 is a good operating system. It is fast, user friendly and compatible with pretty much everything which is more than I can say for Ubuntu or any other flavour of linux I've tried.

EDIT: That's not to say I don't like linux. It's just that Windows is still more usable.
