Want to build my own computer, need help?

Hey guys, I want to save money to build my self a computer that supports video games. I want to have a high graphics card with good memory in it. I don't know what computer parts I'll need to get a computer to fully work. And what can I use to install a pc software? I want to install Windows Vista on it. But I don't know if I will be able to do that. I know you need a driver for the PC and everything. And I wanted to add in Coolers in the PC but I don't know what they do. What will I need to do to build my own custom PC and what will I need to do to get it working? And what parts will I need for the PC? I want it to be a gaming computer that supports video games.

To build a PC from scratch you will need:
      - a case
      - a motherboard
      - an operating system
      - a processor
      - RAM (at least 4 GB)
      - hard drive (one or more)
      - power supply
      - video card
      - sound card (not a requirement, but on board sound sucks)
      - optical drive (DVD/BR)
      - mouse/keyboard, monitor, speakers/headphones (depending on what you already have)

As to where to get these items I highly recommend http://www.newegg.com/ They have a wide selection, good prices, and sometimes great deals. When I built my current PC I ordered all the parts from newegg. I've never had a problem with their parts, but if you do their customer service is superb.

I'm not quite sure what you mean when you say "coolers", heatsinks? water
      cooling? fans?

As far as tools go, the only thing you may need is a screwdriver. Sometimes you don't even need that though.

You say you want Windows Vista. If that's what you prefer then fine, but the latest version of windows is Windows 7. I haven't used it yet, but everyone says its better than Vista.

If you have anymore questions I'll be happy to help.

There is--though I do not know how there is or why there is--a sense of infinite peace and protection in the glittering hosts of heaven. There it must be, I think, in the vast and eternal laws of matter, and not in the daily cares and sins and troubles of men, that whatever is more than animal within us must find its solace and its hope. I hope, or I could not live.
