      Exclamation Flash what!?

Okay so I'm making some stick figure cartoons (with sound bytes) that I intend to upload to Youtube. I'm wondering what're the best programs for something like this?

Below, you'll see a video similar to the kind of movement complexity I'm talking about.

      and

So my question is, what programs do I need to make those kind of animations in terms of the graphics, inserting sound bytes and being able to put it on youtube?

      Thanks.

Edit: Please don't say garageband, I don't have a mac.

Since I'm at school, I can't watch those videos. Though, what I can suggest from reading your post would be to look into Pivot for making stick-figure animations. Basic Pivot is free, and honestly is pretty decent if you put the time into making your final product look good. There's also Pivot Pro, though, which has more features but also costs a couple bucks (though, it doesn't necessarily have to).

Not really sure what you're asking Jeff, do you already have a program for animating? Either way, I'd suggest you consider Flash for the animation.
As for making sounds, a bit of voice acting -- grunts and the like, can be the most fun part of it. Inserting sounds into flash is easy too, just a few clickums.
You merely have to change your point of view slightly, and then that glass will sparkle when it reflects the light.

I don't have any programs whatsoever atm. I'm a complete n00b to these kinds of things which is why I asked.

Flash will allow me to make the images that need to be animated as well? Or will I need some other kind of program to make the images and then throw it into flash? If so, what would you recommend?

Flash can be used to create elements, and for animating those elements.

If you're looking into creating very detailed elements, then I'd suggest Photoshop for that -- the programs work hand in hand with inbuilt functionality. Creating stick figures in flash is a better idea though as all the tools are for vector images, always clean lines and infinitely scalable.

Really, all you need is flash to create, animate, add sounds and effects, and then publish to any number of formats that can be uploaded easily to YouTube or viewed on a media device or computer.
