      I did it, I WILDed! & Question

I performed my first WILD last night!

I woke up after a dream last night at 5:30 AM after about 4 hours of sleep. I noticed that I just woke up and tried to remain still. Sure enough, after a few seconds SP kicked in. I've got quite familiar with this feeling so I just tried to relax a bit and go with the flow. I didn't get any HI, HH or whatsoever, except the sensation of a very strong heartbeat.

After a while all sensations faded and I thought I had woken up. I was very sweaty and thought by myself: "That must've been intense." I did a RC just to be sure and to my surprise I could breath through my nose! I got out of bed and for some reason I really wanted to get out of my room. It felt as if I was really drunk, everything was blurry and my movements felt like controlling a badly calibrated touchscreen. I knew I had to stabilize but for some reason I really wanted to get out as quick as possible. I went right through my window. I wanted to stabilize the dream but it was already too late and woke up.

Now my question is, how come everything is so blurry and fades so quick? I've had about a dozen DILDs but all ended in less than 5 seconds (if not faster) giving me no time at all to stabilize the dream.

      Any tips would be appreciated.

I'm really happy with last night anyway, I hope this experience is going to make it a lot easier to get more of 'em.

you are getting to excited that your are lucid and forget your priorities, thats what I did the first several lucids I had. As soon as your lucid no matter what just sit down and relax, its ok to be happy about being lucid but keep a "poker face" about it, than you need to slowly rub your hands together and than examine your surroundings using all your senses, pick something up, look around at details, see if there are sounds or smells etc. than feel free to do what you want in a more accurate dream world with less "glitches."

Nope, that's not it, sure I got excited the first few times but now I know to keep calm and I'm sure I'm not too excited anymore. After I got got out of bed I knew my priority was to stabilize the dream but I felt a primordial urge to get out of my room first. I couldn't think clearly, as I said, it felt as if I was really drunk (both in mind and body).

The problem is not that I don't know how to stabilize the dream it's just that I don't get the opportunity to.

you should maybe tell your self before you go to bed "I stabilize my dreams, first." I find mantras help remind me of my priorities a lot.

That might work for the WILD, as I said however, I don't forget my priorities, I just don't get the time for it.

What happens when I realize that I'm dreaming is that everything turns black and I don't have a body anymore. I am nothing floating in a sea of nothingness. Then I wake up.

so are you talking about DILD? because mantras still work for me with them, as soon as I get lucid I remember what my goals were or whatever my mantra was about. Maybe when your lucid remind your self this is your dream and you are know a dream body, say this is my dream therefore I can control it. Sorry im trying to help and this is what helps me...

Well yeah, as soon as I realise that I'm dreaming during a normal dream (so that's a DILD yeah) it fades almost instantly. It's quite frustrating but I'll try some auto-suggestion before going to bed to see if it has any result.

yeah iv never experienced a LD thats fades almost instantly, my first few faded but after a couple seconds, this gave me time in later LD to stabilize first, I would say just being confident that you will stabilize your next dream will help.

The same thing happened to me during one of my FAs. I got out of bed and when I went to open my door I got really dizzy like I was drunk and I started to black out. Then I woke up, but to another FA.
Every passing minute is another chance to turn it all around.

hmmm, thats weird, Idk how else to help except by saying you just gotta work on stabilization before doing anything else which Im sure you already know.

Well guess what, last night I had a 10 minute long LD!

My first long one ever, I didn't use any mantra's or auto-suggestion before going to bed but this time it just didn't fade right away giving me time to stabilize.

I was not very vivid though and I wasn't particularly lucid but it is great progress. Had 3 lucid moments in 3 nights now!
