      Epic fail. Five questions.

So I tried to do an actual WILD for the first time last night. I've tried in the past to WILD durring naps. Little luck, only flase awakenings.

Anyway. I went to bed at about 10:20. I set my alarm for 4:20. I woke up to the peaceful opening of Clair de Lune. I got up, got some water, turned off my alarm. I forgot to write down my dreams.

Then I laid on my back. It took me a long time to get comfy in this position. I fall asleep on my right side, so this was kind of strange. I chose to lie like this because it would help me to better focus on my breathing and stuff.. I guess it doesn't matter what position you're in, though?

Question #1: Should I lie in my usual sleeping position when attempting a WILD, or sould I lie in a more... "meditative" position?

Ok. So I started counting my breaths. By about 50 I was getting the urge to move. I resisted. Then I was loosing focus, and started letting my mind wander while still counting my breaths. I might have had a few dream snippets.

Question #2: Is counting alone enough to keep you focused and stop your mind from falling asleep? It seemed to have the reverse effect on me. It was like counting sheep.

I started loosing count and forgetting what comes after 59 or 79 or 89 and so on. Eventually I lost count allthogether and started back at 1.

Then I started having itches on my arms and feet. I ignored them. It was hard. Then my neck felt like it was in a weird position. I ignored that. I kept getting feelings like there were bugs crawling on me. I knew it wasn't real though, so I ignored that.

I kept drifting for what must have been about an hour... I heard my dad get up and get ready for work.

Then I felt this VERY annoying sensation like someone was poking my neck in one spot. I ignored it for a while, and then I got pissed and then just rolled over and fell asleep.

Questions #3-#5: It seems like it was way too much work to stay still. It was pretty damn distracting. I read a few threads that said people can move while attempting to WILD. Is this possible? I'm a person that moves a freaking lot while I sleep. I have never felt SP ever. Isn't this a radical phenominon? I move all over the damn place. Would not trying to stay perfectly still work better in my case?

      I lied. I have a 6th question.
How long did it personally take you to have a successful WILD?

.....and THAT, my friends, is why I woke up pissed this morning.

I guess I can take this on... Just because I like your "title" quote

1 - I say lie on your back, or slightly on your side, but this is in no way the "norm" everyone has thier preference, lie however you feel comfortable

2 - I wouldn't count at all, try repeating a phrase, about dreaming obviously. Also, I find that letting your mind wander is not a bad thing, if you stay focused and bring your mind back every few minutes you're ok.

3-5 - I honestly think trying to lie perfectly still is crap. You're body naturally moves anyways, so it seems more normal to go with it. The main thing is to stay focused, stay in your head, if you want to move slightly, do so, but don't really think about it (if that makes sense). I'm a huge fidgeter as well...

6 - Well, after reading about WILD I had one the very next morning. Since then I've had 4 more... However, I get SP naturally and that definitely helps, on the other hand I suck at DILDs

Good luck, but don't try too hard. You might find your better at DILDs. It looks like you already use a DJ so with that, RCs and discipline you should WILD soon
