What if I'm more comfortable on my side?

Hello all, thanks in advance for any advice.

For as long as I can remember, I have never been able to sleep on my back. Most of the time I sleep on my side, and occasionally on my stomach. It's just a matter of head support.

I think the main reason I have yet to have a LD yet is because I can't make up my mind on which to learn first, DILD or WILD. I keep going back and forth between them and succeeding at neither. At first it seemed like it would be best to learn to DILD first and once I got better and more experienced then I would experiment with WILD's. But I really want to have as much control over when and how often I am lucid, and WILD's seem to be the best option for me to have that control.

I have come very close to full SP, but I have difficulty getting the discomfort of being on my back out of my mind and that keeps me from moving further. So is it possible to WILD on your side, is it more difficult or does it depend on the person?

Also I am currently looking to be adopted, but I'm not 100% sure if I need it. If you think you can help and if you're not too busy, I'd like to hear from you.

You can but It's harder because you may have more trouble staying awake. I can WILD on my side though.

I've had 17 WILDs now, all from lying on my side. It shouldn't be a problem.

ok, thanks guys. I think I'm going to stick with it. I came really close last night, my body went very numb but not all the way, and then all of a sudden I felt a rush like the bed tilted upright. I think I got too excited from it, but I'll expect it next time.

Yea, and I suspect that you think you should lie on your back, because the supine position is the one that correlates with SP the most and so you'll read that a lot, that you have to lie on your back to get into SP. But, you don't need SP to WILD, and even if you wanted it you don't have to lie on your back to get it. So by no means are you required to sleep on your back to lucid dream.

See, I think it depends on whether or not you find that you fall asleep too quickly, you can't fall asleep quickly enough.

If you can't drift off, then sleeping on your side to be more comfortable will help you.

If you are unable to stay awake, sleeping on your back is for most people harder to fall asleep, and it keeps you a bit more awake so you can WILD.
