what's the deal with rem catchup or whatever

ok so you know how if you miss out on REM sleep the night before, after like 9 hours or something you go straight into REM, hence making it easy to WILD. Well does a similar thing happen if you stay up too late? so, example: i got a normal nights sleep last night, and i usually go to bed around 11ish and it's now 12:33, if i go to bed now could i try and go straight into a wild? I know your supposed to wbtb after like 4 hours or something so say for example if i went to bed at 3am, could i WILD straight into it? or does it not work like that?

You have to be really sleep deprived to have a REM rebound. I did it only once, after I stayed awake for 22 hours. It's not healthy, but...well...Everything for an LD EDIT: I just remembered that I did it twice, not once. The second time I stayed awake for more than 24 hours.
