WILDs possible when you first go to bed?

Hey all -- I'm fairly new to the whole idea of WILDs.

I just read the tutorial and realized that I often experience SP and HH while I initially go to bed. Just last night I consciously felt myself lose touch with my body and have my awareness of my surroundings and situation spin into weird dream fragments and back again. Part of me was thinking, "Cool -- I think I'm about to start dreaming! Stay conscious, stay conscious, stay conscious!"

... But then my baby started crying in the next room and pulled me back into full waking awareness. Doh!

However, the tutorial says WILDs are only possible when you wake up in the middle of the night or when you're napping in the middle of the day.

Is that true, in your experience? Or have you ever entered into a WILD straight from falling asleep for the first time in an evening?

I'd love to get your input, O Experienced WILDers!

At first, I was under the impression that we only dreamed in the REM stage (stage 5) of sleep, but this has been proven inconclusive. We actually dream in all five stages of sleep, including the fist stage of sleep when we first fall asleep; however we dream more frequently in the REM stage of sleep.

Only once have I ever successfully WILDed when I first went to sleep and it was accidental. So it is very possible to WILD when you first go to sleep w/o a WBTB (Wake-Back-To-Bed) method. But it will definitely be much more difficult because we dont dream as much in the other four stages as we do in the REM stage as I said above.

So since your beginning, it wouldn't hurt to WILD when you first go to bed and waking up and trying it with a WBTB. Experience is the best thing you can have when trying to WILD. Good luck.

I have only ever WILDed personally when I first went to bed. Twice. So it's definitely possible.
