      Help, please...

      I need help again, lol.

      I'm having a lot of success in achieving SP with the HH associated with the later WILD stages.

      What i do is the following: I lay on my bed and count while breathing to around 200. When i feel i did it for a long time i turn to my side. Then i restart counting. Eventually I'll lose track of the counting and start feeling HH like a thing pushing me, my body floating and a buzzing on my ears.

      Although i have done a WILD successfully before when i get to this SP and HH part i'm still unsure on what to do. I'm not that great on visualization (someone suggested that to me but i don't think it would work). Can someone explain to me this transition part of the WILD? How can I enter the dream?

      Other question i have is: What is the role of the DJ in WILDing? I kept it for MILDing and it was really useful but with WILDing I don't really see the importance of it. If i dont DJ while WILDing does it really matter? What if i only registered there the only successful attempts?

      Any suggestions are welcome.

      Hi junkown. Just to let you know, bumps are kind of against the rules here. But no harm done, man. Anyway, to answer your questions I'll start with the DJing aspect.

      First off, dream journaling should be fun! You can read your past exploits weeks or even years after the fact and be fond of them. Aside from that, don't think that just because it's a WILD you will remember it easily. The DJ is the best way to solidify a WILD or any dream into your mind. It would suck to have an awesome WILD and forget it completely. Plus, dream journaling in general keeps your dream recall up to date no matter what kind of dream it was. (Though I would understand not journaling totally unsuccessful WILDs.)

      As far as what to do when you reach sleep paralysis- this one may suck a little bit because you risk losing the WILD altogether- but most people have to immerse themselves into the dream once they feel that tugging feeling. How do you immerse yourself? You get up from the bed, open your eyes, and walk around. You may actually get up in RL, or you may have just created your dream body or avatar. It's a risk you need to take.

      Yeah, visualizing sounds better, (less risk.) But visualizing only works for some people when it comes to jump starting the WILD. Let me put it like this. Right now, if you visualize typing a response to me and then think really hard about typing- nothing will happen, right? You have to just do it.

      Oh, sorry. Didn't knew the bumping went against the rules of the forum.

      Well, the journaling is fun to a certain degree (sometimes i'm too sleepy to write down the dreams, lol, or i can't remember all the details which annoys me as i want to write down all the details possible of the dreams).

      As i'm on holidays i don't have problem dream journaling and, usually, i even register the failed WILD attempts writing down to what part of the process i managed to get and how i got there (position of sleep, process i used, etc. So i register all the stuff i did on the attempt). Also i find funny to register the sensations i felt so i can check them later on (vibrations, stuff i heard, etc.).

      Thing is, when university restarts, i will have a lot of things to focus on and i'm sure it won't be so easy to DJ all my dreams plus the attempt reports i talked about before. I'm afraid it might affect my performance at classes as it may be a certain factor of perturbation to my normal sleep (i might try to go to sleep earlier so i can compensate it). I'll try to mantain DJ and see what happens. I just don't want to screw the irl stuff because of LD which i also find really cool but will never replace reality to me.

      That approachs seems strange to me as, from my experience, when i tried to move to abort the attempt, when seeing HH, i realized i'm either on SP and can't move for a while or that I can move but i'm awake. But maybe i wasn't so deep in the process that i had reached the point where i should try it out. I will try it in next time to see what happens.

      I might try visualization too. Altough it worked in some LDs to make things appear I'm unsure it will work in that stage of the process. But i guess there's no harm in trying.

      Anyway thanks for your help and wish me luck . One thing is certain i won't give up so easily. I will master that damn WILD technique...

      Think nothing of the bump man. Its all cool.

      I hear you about business making DJing hard. When I'm too busy to be thorough, I jot down a sentance or two per dreams. Not ideal, but better than nothing.

      The reason that the technique of moving usually works is because by the
      time SP has kicked in most people are already

      Yeah, if visualizing works for you by all means go for it! Some people have great success with it. If it works particularly well as you get better, check out VILDing. (Have you heard of it?) Like I said though, some people find direct action the only way to initiate a dream. Looks like you are doing what you need to be doing and toying with it.

      Thanks for your help.

      I managed to do it this morning.

      I waked up, moved a little and then i tried WILDing (doing a quick WILD).

      After some time i heard a high frequency buzz and i knew i was in the HH stage. I imagined that i was being pulled from my bed (as i had a scary HH like that before i tried, this time, to provoke a new one). Although i didn't get anything visually. I really felt it again. Some time later it stopped. I waited a bit and then i imagined myself rising from bed and opening my eyes.

      It worked and i found myself sitting on my bed in a dream. I tried the "look at hands" RC but the room seemt to be too dark and i couldn't see well. I looked to where i was laying before and i saw a green neon light. It started floating and it, eventually, dissappeared. After a second or two i wake up (Didn't try any stabilization techniques so it didn't last much time).

      Anyway i think i'm on the good way. Just need to do some enhancements to the process. Thanks again Spockman.
