Ideal position for inducing lucid dreams

      Hello eveyone,

First post here. I've been wondering for quite a while if there's such a thing as an ideal resting position for doing WILDs. To me, it seems logical to choose a different position from the one we usually take while sleeping in order to keep the mind wide awake and thus, preventing it to sink into sleep. Strangely though, every lucid dreams I had was when I was resting on my side, like I usually do while sleeping. I've been trying to induce dreams several times while resting on my back but I either can't relax enough or I drift in light sleep and wake up after 30 minutes or so.

So, what's your views on the ideal resting position?

I always do it while laying down, the position I naturally sleep in. An astral projection method, which is very similar to wild, suggests that you sit in a comfortable chair. This will decrease the chances of falling a sleep since you aren't used to falling a sleep in a chair.

Stuff like this always confused me... won't doing something uncomfortable keep your mind too awake?

I don't know if something will keep you too awake. It must be different for different people, because some use pain to induce lucid dreams and uncomfortable positions.

Personally, I think it's best to use a comfortable. Because I combine Jeff777's and KingYoshi's methods for WILDing I do not remain in one position. I move if and when necessary. However with my two successful WILDs, I was either laying on my stomach (I usually awaken from normal sleep on my back) and on my side. I think it's a good idea to be comfortable and use your normal sleeping habits. Of course the hard part would still be to keep your mind alert!
