      I'm half way there

Hi, I'm new to DV and I haven't had a lucid dream in like 8 years.

Yesterday I tried again, after finding this forum. I listed to some music what I found in this forum and I was falling asleep. Basicly I had all the things that you guys talk about in here.

It's heavy to move feet and my eye lids are heavily shut. The first time I felt some pressure to my chest and my breathing changed. Some light show is happening in front of my eyes. But that's it. I don't go anywhere from that stage. Today I found myself dreaming for about 1min. , but as soon as I know I'm dreaming I come out of it and back into the stage where I'm laying in my bed and looking at the light show. It's like my brain shuts the dream down as soon as I understand it's a dream.

And when I take my earphones off, the thing or the state ends.

      Hey, welcome to the forums.

I know what you mean about being stuck in that stage, I've got there and read about plenty of others not knowing what to do. I can't really explain that well about how to get into the transitional phase, but check out the tutorials (if you haven't already).

Hopefully a good WILDer here could answer that for you.

EDIT: (About moving your earphones). Movement will knock you out of sleep paralysis, so you would have to try again (for WILDing)(unless you're really tired and can fall into things faster).

I understand that, but I can't go into the "stage" without the sound.

Thats the main reason why i dont use sounds or anything when i go to bed. I fear that if i am somewhere that i dont have access to electronics and i want to LD wtf will i do without my sounds? I wouldn't want to rely on anything but my own mind.

I've tried without it and I can't concentrate, there is too much noise.

I had a nap during the day and when I tried to go SP a little time ago I couldn't. Maybe I'm not tired enough?
