Lightbulb I think I'm discovering how to LD by accident!

I apologize for the atrocious amount of text, I can't seem to post a topic here without going all out on the details.

Over the past month or two, I've been on and off as far as lucid dreaming goes. I kept a dream journal for a few days, stopped, started up again, etc.
I've had 1 or 2 success, but they were very short and most likely by accident.

Almost every weekend, though, I'd try a WBTB, I had maybe one success. To keep myself busy at 3 in the morning, though, I'd have a few windows already open on my computer. One is this song:

Kinda stupid, I know. But so catchy. Every time I tried a WBTB from then on, I listened to that song just after I woke up in the middle of the night. You know, for the sake of consistency.

But what I noticed is this: at least once in my dreams I began to hear that song, played on the dream radio or whatever. My mind wasn't quite there, but I know I was trying to make the connection. When that song plays, my mind associates it with lucid dreaming.

So my theory is this: play the song In the middle of the night, soft enough not to wake me up, but loud enough to be heard. Perhaps even set it to 10 or so minutes after I fall asleep after a WBTB.

Thoughts? My hope is that it will work like one of those lucid dreaming masks, but with a distinct association to lucid dreaming.

Yep, this could work. The brain always tries to infuse sensory input like this into the dream just to not wake up your conciousness, IMO if you associate it with being lucid it could trigger it.

I've found audio cues to be helpful in WBTB.

What I have used in the past is an audio program about lucid dreaming, usually LaBerge's "Controlling Your Dreams" or "Dream Yoga" by Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche.

I will put it on my iPod and just let the program loop over and over while I sleep. Eventually the audio will be heard while I am in a dream and I will realize I am dreaming. This technique worked pretty consistently, just not every single night as I had hoped, but it does tend to work better during a WBTB attempt.
