Hypnogogic Audio?

I'm not very experienced when it comes to WILDing(2-3 times), but this morning I was able to do it, sort of on accident. I was getting some HI and this started turning into a dream and all the sudden I became alert and realized I was dreaming. The excitement broke the dream up, but I was still almost asleep and yet very aware of my state. Then I heard my mom and my brother arguing. At the time I thought this was actually happening(they argue almost constantly) and just ignored it, but now I'm convinced that I was dreaming this, my brother would have been at school as it was 8:15. Then I heard rain outside. This slowly turned into me walking outside in the rain. I immediately knew it was a dream and walked around in the rain just enjoying the sensation of water. I tried flying but couldn't and woke up briefly. Then I had another dream where I was vaguely aware of my state where I was hitting an Asian guy in the head with an umbrella. My question is, has anyone experienced hypnogogic audio before. Or had a dream that was just audio, no visual. I've had the experience of being asleep and having no dreams, just thought, but I've never heard sounds, like the rain.

usually audio goes along with my hypnogogic state. rain, voices, sometimes music.

This time I was getting all audio, no visual, and when I focused on it it became a full dream.

interesting the most audio I've heard was just voices for a second or two. I wonder if there is a way to focus on your hearing to make the sounds start happening. This would be a good way to get into a WILD.

Yeah, as soon as school lets out(5 more days) I'm gonna start learning how to WILD. I'm definitely going to try to use this as a launchpad, I'm very audio centered person.

seems like you had a FA but thought your WILD had failed. You probably had your eyes closed, but you might have actually been in a dream at that point. Hard to tell. Try an RC next time

Yeah, all the times. I do hear whispers and I felt like someone or something is talking in my ear.

I remember my first wild, i heard the same thing as you did, whispers, but i couldn't understand what they were saying. And i wasn't even trying to wild, i didn't know about it then, i was just laying still.

My first time I heard men talking outside of my window. Second time I heard a creature shuffling slow at first but when it came closer it went fast and had a weird growl also sounded like a pig snorting.

It is quite common. When I am hovering on the edge of sleep, I will often hear things like someone saying my name, the telephone ringing, someone walking up the stairs, or voices. These things are hard to ignore because its much easier to believe that they are real than visual hallucinations, especially since for me at least, they are usually things that make me want to get up and check on them (like the telephone).

Yeah it is. I hate when that happens and you always have to get up and check and nobody or nothing is there and you failed a WILD. I mean when I have heard this I have never gotten up I just stayed in bed.

yes hypnagogic audiotory hallucinations means your very close to a WILD. Unfortunately I fall asleep soon after I get them. It's easy getting hypangogic audiotry hallucinations for me now, I just clear my head and focus on one thing for a couple of minutes ( like the sound of the air conditioner or something ) and not much later I'll catch a glimpse of the subconscious thoughts rising. Usually I end up falling asleep though.
