      Weirdest feeling ever

So, this morning I tried using The Ultimate Lucid Dream Induction by Really before WBTB WILDing, in hopes it would help me get over my barrier that has prevented me from WILDing in the past. Though I didn't get a WILD, I did get a really weird thing happening, and I think I might have been very close.

So, I had my alarm to wake me up after around 5 hours of sleep, and when I got up, I drank some water and then immediately put on the audio and listened through it all while laying in my bed, just focusing on the music and the scenes my imagination created from the music. When the audio ended, I put my headphones away and started a regular WILD attempt, but visualizing that same scene I saw when listening to the music, instead of just counting my breaths.

By this time, I think I might have been a bit too tired, I should probably have stayed up for a while longer during the WBTB, because from this point on, everything is pretty much a blur, and I don't really know if I was aware or if I was dreaming it all, but anyway. I didn't feel things I normally do during WILD attempts, such as beginning stages of sleep paralysis, or vibrating sensations. I did however get a number of new sensations.

The first one was my first experience of Hypnagogic Hallucinations, though only audio hallucinations, no visual. I would now and then hear a very loud kind of swooshing sound in my left ear (the one that was against the pillow, I lay on my side), very similar to the one you hear at the end of that audio clip I used. This sound would surprise me, pulling me back a bit in the WILD attempt.

Next was a sensation of getting pulled away with great velocity. I'm guessing that was me about to enter the dream, but I was so surprised and excited by it that I got pulled back to my bed again. Or at least I thought so, because the next experience was...

My very first False Awakening. Or Semi-False Awakening. It was a very strange feeling, because I felt like I was somehow in both my dream body and my real body at the same time. Both of my bodies were in my bed, and I was like controlling both simultaneously. When I tried to do a "pinch nose and breathe" reality check, I think I somehow moved the arm of both my bodies, so the RC didn't work, since I plugged my real nose too. I then tried opening my eyes, but only the right eye would open, as if the left one was in sleep paralysis or something. Strange thing was, when I opened my right eye, I saw two versions of my wall, my real wall, and a dream wall, overlayed on top of one another. It looked very odd indeed.

As I said, I don't really know if these things really happened, or If I just dreamed it all, it's very blurry, since I was so drowsy. After these things occurred, I tried to WILD once more, this time listening to the audio on repeat, but it didn't work, so I gave up and went back to sleep. During this WILD attempt I was not as drowsy though, but the memory is still a bit of a blur.

So, if all of this truly happened and wasn't just a dream, was I as close to WILDing as I think I was? Should I have done anything differently (besides not being as drowsy )? What was with that weirdo False Awakening?

I'm not entirely sure and I don't think I have the knowledge to help you, but I have had that before. It was an unusual variant of sleep paralysis for me where I was closer to dreaming than being awake, and oddly able to move quite a bit but still not too much. I have also had that dream upon reality layering together. There was no buzzing, shaking or swaying for me like normal SP, what about you?

One thing to try if it happens again is to levitate, see if you can separate, create pressure beneath yourself with your mind to hold you up. Every time I try this though my dream body usually ends up falling to the floor as if I weighed extra, causing me to wake up (sometimes with a jerk). Maybe like you said it's because you can feel your real body too much.

Yeah, I didn't get that shaking or swaying feeling like normally, either. The way you describe it as being closer to dreaming than awake fits what I felt perfctly. And now that you mention it, my dream body did feel heavier than my real body usually does. It was like the two bodies were linked together, like both moved exactly the same, and since the real body was like semi paralyzed, so was my dream body. I remember having a hard time lifting my arm to do the nose pinch RC.

Now that I think about it, I may have experienced something close to what you did. I never did a WILD, or anything, instead I was having a DILD, and all of a sudden I had a false awakening, which I foolishly thought was real. But in this false awakening, I could barely move my body, and it felt as if it was much heavier, and was sinking through the bed. What was also weird was how I could somehow sense my real body. Then I quickly awoke for real, and was very confused by the whole thing.
