Oneirology

The scientific study of dreams. [Not to be confused with dream-analysis] Oneirology explores the physical process of dreaming and does not focus on their meaning. Examples of studies in oneirology may range from the incidence of dreaming in each sleep stage to dreaming disorders, and includes processes like lucid dreaming and the study of consciousness.
