      Delta Waves

      i've recently purchased an audio cd - and the tracks are delta waves.

      listening to the waves at night and letting them make you fall asleep, will induce a deeeeeep dreamy sleep

      my question is : does a voluntary induced delta state have any effect on lucidity ?

      i havn't had any ld's yet- still in the process of dream rec. so i can't tell.

      thnx

      Well the BWGEN uses different waves to have dfferent results, including Delta. We have a nice little tutorial for making one whichh can be found here:

      I hope that this has helped you.

      I think that delta waves are found during your most deep sleep.
      in sequence;
      Betewaves = awake
      Alpha waves = Drowsy
      delta waves = deep sleep
      REM sleep= back to beta waves.
      So you would think that a Cd would have more impact during the time your brain is omitting Betewaves. That is providing that I am correct.
      I just purchased a CD as well. From the Monroe institute. Hemi-Sync® Audio Technology

      Where did you get yours?

      hey but if you mess up with the freq. is'nt that dangerous- i mean create waves that your mind doesn't recognise

      I believe Alpha waves are the most common during dreaming (ie. REM sleep). However, the amount of REM sleep you have is maximised if you sleep deeply in the first half of the night. If you can induce delta waves which make you sleep deeply and regain energy, then for the rest of the night you will only have REM sleep.

      I found more

      In a psychology book from college I found the following;
      Brain-wave tracings vary in amplitude (hight) and frequency (cycles per second, abbreveated cps).
      The bands were named after letters in the greek alphabet.
      Bete= (13-24 cps)
      alpha =(8-12 cps)
      Thete= (4-7 cps)
      Delta = (4cps)

      Thanks for the link Oracle!

      How do you listen to CD's like this? With headphones taped on? or a CD player beside your bed? (just curious)

      I've found the kind of headphones that have the band that go over/around your head work best. Those ones that go right into your ear SUCK (in my opinion) they easily fall out. As long as you don't toss and turn a lot in your sleep, you should be ok.

      I've tried the BWGen once. I programed it to bring me up from deep sleep twice during the night. I recorded it to my iPod and used headphones. I haven't tried it since just because I'm a little worried about forcing things into my brain for such a long period of time - specially when I'm unconcious! I know, I'm paranoid. However, I'm getting so frustrated that I might actually go back and try it again!

      You may also try recording a message to yourself telling you to perform a reality check and have it play about an hour or hour and a half into your sleep. You will hear it in your dream (if you are dreaming) and hopefuly not wake up.

      i just found an amayzing new way -

      1- i put the cd in my stereo,
      2- i got an extension cable so i can be comf. with th e wire
      3- i set a timer on my stereo for the cd to go on and off ( i start the waves when i'm already asleep- )
      4- i put normal earphones like the ipod one for ex.
      5- this is the novelty: i put a beany bag on my head that cover my ears- so the earphone don't fall off - i can move in any direction and still hear the waves and the earphone never fall off

      LDs are in the beta range though, i'm pretty sure, its actually more active then being awake..

      I would assume a nice delta wave cd would be good to fall asleep to, but it should fade over to alpha or beta for Lding after about 3 hours.

      I dunno though, i'm no expert, just rambling
